25.01.2022 Do you need a dose of optimism to clear the COVID fog? Watch TJ Hendy on a kid's surfboard at Blinky Beach, and imagine how much fun he was having. I've been watching this clip all afternoon, and weirdly, for the first time in weeks, I'm feeling cautiously optimistic. Thanks for the clip Andy Lloyd - you have a knack for making people smile.

22.01.2022 Our cookbook is the perfect Christmas gift for Lord Howe Island fans and wanderlusting foodies. Order by calling the Sydney office on 02 9262 6585 / 1800 226 142 and we'll express post it out the same day.

21.01.2022 The bush fires in northern NSW gave us an amazing sunrise this morning at Blinky Beach. Imagine our surprise when the heavy grey clouds cleared to reveal this....

19.01.2022 What's your perfect drink and snack combination for a moment like this? I should say a crisp Tasmanian Riesling with sashimi of kingfish, but to be honest, a cold beer with salt & vinegar chips is hard to beat....

16.01.2022 Want to spend Christmas with us? We have space for 2 guests from 20-26 December this year! Email [email protected] for more information, we hope to celebrate with you soon!

12.01.2022 Angela Saurine - travel and lifestyle writer writes, After the sudden death of her brother, Dani Rourke felt compelled to leave her job as a lawyer in Sydney a...nd return to Lord Howe Island to run Pinetrees Lodge, which had been in her family for generations. She and her obliging husband have since introduced everything from ocean swim retreats to one of the Great Walks of Australia." #TravelPlayLive https://bit.ly/2AYJ3Cw See more

06.01.2022 One benefit of home-schooling is that we can combine PE and photography lessons into one efficient climb to Goat House. On this excursion, there was also some maths (how far to the top?), geography (why are stupid volcanoes so steep?), politics (why is President Trump orange?) and a threatened suspension along the way. Still, it's great to spend so much time with the kids. We hope you're all well in your various stages of self-isolation, lockdown and home-schooling. Hopefully, we're slowly emerging from the COVID-19 bunker. Take care! Dani & Luke

06.01.2022 ARIA Award winner, Jeff Lang, played at our Summer Festival in February. After a perfect day at the beach, about 100 guests and locals gathered at the boatshed for Jeff's intimate sunset performance - and it was captivating. We're working on a video with a live recording of Jeff, but as a preview, have a listen to this short clip. You'll need to turn your volume up to hear how good it is (click the volume button on the bottom right of the video and turn it up). Jeff is returning to Pinetrees in February 2021 for a week of adventure, relaxation, music and indulgence (mostly in that order). We can’t wait it’s the best week of the year.

04.01.2022 Pixie just made the cover of Out & About with Kids Magazine. It was a serious jump on a perfect day. Please don't encourage her next time you visit, or better still, bring a spare book that she can read, quietly, in the shade. Some parents don't like it if you feed their kids sugar. We don't like it if you ask Pixie to jump off large objects (although I might have been responsible for this one).

02.01.2022 There's plenty of space for social distancing at Lovers Bay! It doesn't sound like Lord Howe will open to NSW travellers until August, so please enjoy your winter adventures. We'd do anything for a road trip to Milton, Tilba, Jindabyne, Tumbarumba, Rutherglen, Mildura, Lake Mungo, Broken Hill, Warrumbungles, Bellingen, Comboyne, and maybe the Hunter Valley on the way home - four weeks of crisp winter air, bush walks, open fires and big horizons. What's the itinerary for your dream NSW trip?
