13.01.2022 ....................Please Read for Home Washing Recommendations........ I'd like to share some Home Washing & Drying clothes recommendations from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and other organisations to minimize risk of viruses and bacteria spreading from person to person through clothing and bedding. As per CDC, coronavirus is typically transmitted through respiratory droplets, coughing or sneezing from an infected person, their guidelines also note ...virus may remain viable for hrs to days on surfaces made from various materials, including clothing. The NIAID don't yet have information on how long virus can stay on fabrics but have studied how long the new coronavirus can survive on cardboard, plastic and steel, pants and jackets etc have metal zippers. -Wear disposable gloves when handling dirty laundry and avoid shaking clothes, even after taking gloves off, wash hands thoroughly. - Disinfect the basket the dirty laundry was in or wash the laundry bag( if possible). Since we know that the virus can remain active on surfaces for hours or days, wipe down your machines with disinfectant on the outside. - Use the warmest possible setting and check your garment label, place correct amount of washing powder/liquid as per manufacturers guidelines. *detergents work by targeting soiled/dirty laundry, if machine is overloaded, the machine will not wash / rinse your clothing properly therefore contaminants still may stay on your clothing. * Too much detergent also isn't recommended, why, your rinse cycle might not wash away all the detergent in your clothes and any bacteria/dirt may still be present. A quick self check, once your wash cycle has finished, run through another rinse cycle, if suds are present its a good sign to much detergent was added initially. Just because clothes smell better doesn't mean they are clean. - As per Australian Standards, a temperature of 70'C for at least 3 mins in a dryer will help with sterilization. Fully drying your laundry is important. Check garment labels. Some additional tips, ironing and pressing your laundry also assists with sterilization. Studies have shown lower water temps,(22'C -25'C) can reduce contamination when the washer cycle, wash detergent an additives are correct, lower water temps will rely heavily on chlorine - oxygen based bleach to reduce levels of contaminants. I've tried to keep this information short, for more information on home guidelines, visit CDC site, there are other places such as WHO site and NIAID aswell. Please let's all follow guidelines given to us, washing hands, social distancing and latest measures to beat this virus and keep yourself and each other safe. Please reach out if you need, I'm happy to chat and share more practices what we do and more guidelines that are recommended...

13.01.2022 Grateful to have support from the Gazzette, local businesses and most of all our Clients...
