25.01.2022 We are proud to say that this years Pink Pilbara Breakfast was another hugely successful event. The room was a sea of pink with 230 tickets sold. There were plenty of laughs shared with friends and workmates over breakfast, as well as a few tears shed during a recorded video put together by some of our Cancer Support Group members. As they shared their stories along with family members, we were given an emotional insight into their lives and their cancer journeys. ALL of the ...money raised will be donated to our local Well Womens Cancer Support Group this year. The group is facilitated by two of our very own staff members who are cancer survivors, and through offering this support group, we have been able to fill a gap in cancer services in our own community. We are thrilled to announce that due to the incredible support we received, not only did we beat our target of exceeding last years total of $38,000 - we SMASHED it and raised an extraordinary $45,000!!! (David Eckhart from Spirit Hedland generously donated a nice sum to round our total up to $45,000 - thanks Ecky!) Thank you to all of our generous sponsors and supporters for their donations (we had over 70 auction items this year!) We would like to again thank the following generous sponsors and all those that donated. 18.01.2022 Directions for tomorrow... For those that dont know, the Gateway Village is located at Lot 901 Nimingarra Ct, South Hedland. We will have traffic management in place tomorrow morning, please follow the map below (yellow line) for parking. The pink line is where the breakfast will be held. Please see below the timeline for arrival: - Doors open at 6:30am - Breakfast served from 6:30am... - Silent Auctions from 6:30am (Close at 8.00am). Reserve prices have been set for all auction items this year to ensure that bidders are respectful of the quality of the donations we have been kindly given. - Formalities commence at 7.00am We are looking forward to seeing you bright and early tomorrow!

11.01.2022 One of our lovely cancer support clients has created a range of macrame plant hangers to sell for mothers day, with half of the proceeds being donated to the W...ell Womens. These plant hangers will make the perfect Mothers Day gifts and are available to view and purchase at the Well Womens Centre, 2B Leake Street, South Hedland. You can read Lizs story below... "Feb last year I was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive lymphoma called Burkitts lymphoma. Only 10-12 people in Australia are identified each year with this horrid disease I didnt feel lucky or special! I did feel lucky because it was caught at stage 1, as the tumour was visible. Some people are misdiagnosed and once it gets into the blood then it can cause major problems. I was rushed to Perth for chemo and had to stay down there for 4 months. While having chemo to keep my sanity and to keep occupied I started making macram key rings / bag tags and giving them to all the nurses, cleaners, food handlers and staff at the hospital. It wasnt until half way through my chemo that I heard about the Hedland Well Womens Centre and received a lovely email from them offering support. Being in Port Hedland I felt very isolated, so knowing this group was there for me was greatly appreciated even though I havent had huge contact with them due to my work commitments, I feel that I have made some wonderful friends over the last 12 months. Now being isolated due to COVID-19 I have to work from home and cannot go to our office or to mine sites, I found that I was putting in more hours on the computer than if I was in the office and decided enough was enough so got out my macram cord, started dying colours and being creative again and putting them to good use to support the Well Womens Centre in Hedland and donating half of the sales the centre. I hope you get as much love out of them as I have making them and support the centre.
