21.01.2022 Unfortunately, due to yesterday's update on Covid restrictions in Metro Melbourne, it looks like it will now be impossible for us to proceed with @pinkupmounteliza . We are incredibly disappointed as we had some great ideas to support the @mcgrathfoundation here in @mteliza_village, but it's ok as we will continue to develop these ideas and put together some incredible events in 2021. If possible, we would still like to out together a raffle or something to be able to support... the vital work that the McGrath Foundation does in supporting those affected by breast cancer. If your business is in the position to be able to donate products or services, please get in touch with us. In the meantime, please continue to follow us as we will be continuing to post about breast cancer awareness and ideas of how you can support #PinkUpMtEliza in the coming months. Bree
18.01.2022 Don't delay seeing your GP if you have any concerns about your health. @peninsulahealth #pinkupmounteliza
17.01.2022 It's the first day of a new month, which means it's time for a little friendly reminder to check your breasts for any abnormal changes. If you do find something that seems a little different, please schedule an appointment with your GP - don't let Covid and lockdowns put you off getting your health checked.
15.01.2022 We heard today that women are putting off visiting their doctors even if they have concerns that something may be wrong.. Unfortunately we know what it's like when cancer is picked up late, and we really encourage everyone to complete their routine breast checks, and continue to get a follow up if you think something may be wrong.. Please check in on your family and friends and remind them to also keep a check on their health!!
14.01.2022 So we've been a little unsure of how to proceed with our first year of running Pink Up Mount Eliza due to the impact of Covid. We know that everyone has been affected differently over the past few months, so we'd love to hear from our local Community. We'll still be turning our town pink, and putting donation boxes in local stores, but we'd like to know what type of event/s would you come to this October to help us raise funds for the @mcgrathfoundation's Breast Care Nurses Program?
10.01.2022 Enjoying some fresh air while maintaining social distancing requirements. Hope you're all keeping well!!
10.01.2022 It may be the first day of Winter, but it's also the first day of the month, which means it's the perfect reminder to complete your monthly breast check! Don't forget that it's not just women who should complete a monthly check.. Men should also complete a breast check and be aware of any potential changes.
06.01.2022 Thank you Jenny for all you've done as a McGrath Foundation breast care nurse! We look forward to being able to support this vital program through running Pink Up Mount Eliza. Peninsula Health
03.01.2022 It's the first of the month, and time for another reminder to complete your breast check. Remember to touch and look, and check in with your GP if any changes or you have any queries or concerns.
01.01.2022 What does self-care look like for you? Is it taking time out with a good book; is it sitting down with your planner and working out some new goals; or is it heading to the gym and releasing tension with a workout? What about a monthly breast check? Does this fit into your self-care routine? If not, why not?
01.01.2022 Shopping local as we enter our first weekend of our six week lockdown. We ask our local businesses to support our fundraising efforts, so in return we help them in the toughest year they've had to face in owning their businesses. We still don't know what #PinkUpMtEliza will look like for us this year, but we do know that if we keep supporting one another, we'll end up a stronger community.
