24.01.2022 Playhouse Project - Neil Kempe Hi Everyone. This is the broad group created to keep everyone in touch with the project to develop a production (and any related strategies) for the Playhouse - this group includes everyone from those who have expressed an interest in being heavily involved all the way through to those who simply wanted to be kept informed. This is just the beginning and we want to expand the group as much as possible. So if you have others who want to be added,... please feel free to invite them into the group. This initial message is to let you know two things - 1. The Valley Players have welcomed the idea of having a red hot go at trying to get this project up and going. They are wrapped in the enthusiasm and expressed care from so many people and they welcome our (your) interest and possible involvement. 2. A Planning Team has been appointed to help steer this thing - and the members of that team are Cheryl Mitchell, Diane Blines, Lisa Kempe, Erik Lindbergs, Nathan Glossop, Taylah Waters and Neil Kempe. This group will meet regularly in order to help develop things. Rather than opening this group up to be an enormous forum which could become unwieldy and get buried very fast in an avalanche of ideas, we are asking that any extensive ideas either be directed individually to a Planning Team member (to bring along to a planning meeting) OR fill in a form we will be sending out this week giving you the chance to present your ideas and also identify any specific roles you may like to take on. That'll do for now. There will be more info coming over the next couple days. Feel free, however, to bounce any smaller comments through this forum. It would be nice to hear from you. 02.01.2022 FROM THE PLANNING TEAM Hi everyone. The Planning Team has met and has kicked off a solid process by which to work through things. But we really want to hear from you - and especially gather any ideas you may have. As a general direction we are working towards a major variety production of sorts - which will be targeted for when coronavirus restrictions finally lift (fingers crossed - go Queensland!). In the meantime, we are looking at a number of smaller and more immediate e...vents/activities/projects to pave the way towards that bigger production. And more info on that will be forthcoming very soon. In the meantime, Diane will be adding a link here soon for you to access a Google form on which you can submit any ideas you have. Please, when that form hits this group, feel free to add your ideas and submit them. Please. Your thoughts matter. Also, an initial way we can all help - in a very real way - is by becoming paid up financial members of the Valley Players. It's only $20 for the year for over 18's. Every dollar helps. The Playhouse has to pay for Rates, Insurance, Electricity, etc. and our membership can really help that. If you would like to pay online - please contact Diane via email at [email protected] and Diane will email you the bank account details for you to pay your membership. The benefits of doing this are huge: you will help to keep the Playhouse going until we get the fundraising and other income flowing in; you get a vote in all Playhouse decisions; you prove that support is real and active, and not just words; and you get the self respect of knowing you have genuinely gotten behind the cause.
