20.02.2022 Do you know about the Turquoise Way Path? It is a sealed 14-kilometre, multi-use pathway (prams, bicycles, walking and or running) that follows the stunning coa...stline of the Jurien Bay Marine Park from the marina in Jurien Bay to the mouth of the Hill River estuary towards Cervantes. Isolated beaches, wildlife interactions and stunning coastal views will greet those who choose to enjoy this jewel of the Turquoise Coast. Bring your bike, hire one in Jurien Bay, walk your way to burning off a few calories or simply stroll as far as you want to enjoy the scenery! #jurienbay #turquoisecoast #trailswa #cycle

04.01.2022 The Department of Biodiversity Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) have opened a new campsite near the south eastern edge of Lesueur National Park. The campsit...e is in the Karda reserve. Karda Reserve is approximately 20km from Jurien Bay via Jurien Road (also known as Jurien East Road) and Banovich Road. The reserve is two-wheel drive accessible and the roads are unsealed. You can also reach Karda via Banovich road from the Brand Highway. Karda has two loops with 31 campsites suitable for all types of camping equipment. Each campsite has a picnic table and firepit. You can have a generator in the Marri Loop from 8am to 9pm but the Wandoo Loop is generator-free. Campfires are permitted seasonally (usually between May October) and in provided fire pits only. Firewood is provided. Bookings via the DBCA Parkstay website are essential. Thanks DBCA for continuing to provide excellent facilities in our region. See more

02.01.2022 Media Statement by the Premier : We've heard a few new stories about how the closure of our border is causing problems for some people who were intending to co...me here for various reasons. It's true - our hard border arrangements are clearly going to cause inconvenience and very difficult circumstances for some. WA Police is the doing the best they can to process applications in a timely manner. But I'll be very clear about this: the health, safety and freedoms of the Western Australian community are just too important to put at risk by rushing this process. Travel into our State will remain restricted until we can have confidence that it will be safe. Just as a reminder - the arrangements are pretty straightforward: No one can travel to Western Australia unless they have a pre-approved exemption. Generally, these exemptions include essential services, certain work related travel and special compassionate reasons. Those people who are allowed to enter our State are almost always required to undertake a 14-day isolation upon arrival. If they don't have an appropriate place to self-quarantine, they are placed in hotel quarantine for that time. Wherever they isolate, they are subject to significant penalties if they breach the rules. Anyone who has been in Victoria in the past fortnight will now face more significant restrictions. No one will be allowed into Western Australia if they have been in Victoria in the previous 14 days, unless they meet the new exemption list. The number of exemptions for anyone in that criteria has been reduced significantly, meaning only specific essential workers, transport and freight workers and those persons approved by the State Emergency Coordinator, on the advice of the Chief Health Officer, will be permitted to enter WA. These changes will help to continue keeping Western Australians safe, and we won't hesitate to take further action as the situation continues to evolve. I know that these restrictions aren't easy - especially for Western Australians with families interstate and for those who have moved away and are trying to get back. But we have to hold firm. We know our hard border is working to keep us safe - we simply cannot let that slip now.
