25.01.2022 Last week we had 24 players for the stableford sponsored by Ronco Motors. Big Thankyou to Roncos and Royden Bailey for the sponsorship. Winner of the day with 40 points was Thomas Hawthorne. Thanks to the 2 teams that have nominated for the Junior Fundraiser day at Meningie on Sunday 13th. Good luck to you and have a fun day This Saturday, the 12th is the R.A. Hawthorne Cup at Home. Lameroo have advised they have 18 players and thanks to all the guys and girls that confirmed last week. We are able to match those numbers with a few left over for a stableford competition as well. We want to be on the course by midday so please arrive early. We will be having a meal this Saturday so please all stay if you can. Names will be taken at the start of the day to ensure we can cater efficiently and within Covid Rules.

21.01.2022 Saturday the 26th Sept is Golf closing Day. We will be playing an abbrose starting at Midday. Tea will be available and we will be presenting the Trohpys for the Year Hope to see as many members as possible to celebrate what has been a different year Remember we need a short working Bee Sunday morning to tidy up a few areas. There is not much to do but many hands will get it done quickly. Bring rakes and wipper snippers and if possible a trailer to help pick up what we r...ake. The Ladies and Mens Opens are on the long weekend. If you havent registered be sure to do so at the club Saturday

17.01.2022 Some quick notes to keep all up to date on coming events - Next week 29th Aug is the pairs 27 hole medley. 11am start please be on time, if you don’t have a partner you will still get a hit with the field -the 5th is the Ronco Motors Stableford day so will be looking for a big roll up that day... - Saturday the 12th September is the R.A Hawthorne cup. We are hosting Lameroo at home so all hands on deck for that day. Hopefully we can organise a COVID friendly meal - Sunday the 13th is the annual junior fundraiser Ambrose comp being held at Meningie this year and we need to send 2 teams. Be great to have 1 mixed team and 1 with a couple of juniors if possible. We need to show support especially as over the last few years our juniors have benefited from the funds raised Catch you all next Saturday and we will be looking for committed names for the RA Hawthorne cup and junior fundraiser Thanks to the guys that went to Lameroo open Yesterday we had a good contingent Tim Atze runner up, Ben Jensen got the B grade handicap and Benno creamed a drive to win the A grade bit hitters award Cheers Maurie

Gross Winners: Mitch Kingston and Richard Angel with 133 Nett winners: Lyall Ribbons and Les Hewett with 108 Great to see a good field for the 10th year of this event.... Next week is a Stableford Comp sponsored by Ronco Motors. R.A. Hawthorne cup on Saturday the 12th. Please ensure you have let the Captain know if you will be available by end of golf next week. Junior fundraiser at Meningie on Sunday the 13th and we need confirmed teams by next week so we can advise the club. I think we have a mixed team so looking for a men’s team. The weekend of the 19th and 20th are the Club championship finals. Please ensure you have confirmed your availability by next week.

Sorry for any confusion - RA Hawthorne cup is the 12th Sept Don’t forget the club championships will be played on the weekend of the 19th and 20th of September. Saturday 18 holes and the Sunday final 36 holes. All medal match play. If you are unavailable either day please advise so we can put the next best qualifiers in. Assuming that Drew no.2 A grade, Shorty no.1 B grade and Ross no.2 B grade will be unable ...to play due to border restrictions (will fix if they change) the qualifiers are A GRADE 1. 04.01.2022 Magnificent day for ladies golf today. Midday start. If you always thought you might like to play come up and join our ladies for a fun afternoon Don’t forget the foursomes medley this Saturday. 11am hit off and club open at 10.30am. Your combined handicap must be 28 or above to give all players a fair chance at both trophies. Pairs can be any gender and nominated on the day. If you don’t have a partner come up anyway for a hit we might even have others in the same boat

03.01.2022 We played the Hawthorne Transport Stroke round yesterday and had 25 golfers hit off. Thanks to Beryl and the boys for their sponsorship Winner of the day was Sunny Vogt with 89 nett 66 (welcome to B Grade Sunny) with Richard Angel runner up with a respectable 93 nett 70 Next week is a Stableford Round sponsored by the Golden Grain Hotel. The Captain will be away for the next 2 weekends and our past Captains will look after the field for the next couple of weeks... Coming up for the rest of the month we have FOS Downs Par comp on the 15th, the Lameroo Open on the 22nd and the foursomes medley on the 29th (combined handicaps no less than 28) Enjoy the golfing and see you all at Lameroo
