22.01.2022 Great to have the Quested Family from the UK join us for Parkrun this morning. Welcome to Pioneer Parkrun
22.01.2022 A wet and soggy parkrun today... There are lots of empty spaces on our volunteer roster. Please put your name down to help out when you can. https://www.parkrun.com.au/pioneer/futureroster/
21.01.2022 Unfortunately we have had to cancel today’s Pioneer parkrun due to very high winds and the increased potential for branches dropping on our course.
20.01.2022 Week 2 of being back, great to see more familiar faces again this week. Thank you to all our Volunteers, your time and effort is much appreciated.

17.01.2022 Harmony Week is on next week (15 21 March) as a celebration of cultural diversity. Its all about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. Harmony Week coincides with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on Saturday 21st March. Be sure to check out events in the community that celebrate the diversity that makes Australia such a great place to live. The simple message for Harmony Week is everyone belongs, wh...ich would really resonate with all parkrunners. The colour of Harmony Week is orange, so lets show our support for multiculturalism in our community by wearing a bit of orange to Pioneer parkrun on 21st March.
17.01.2022 Hi everyone Hope you are all staying healthy and well in these strange times. I came across this video today (an oldie but goodie)...and thought Id share - because I know it will make you laugh!. Missing you all....love Michaela. https://www.facebook.com/parkrunAU/videos/646196069537272/
17.01.2022 Whos missing parkrun? We hope that in these uncertain times that youve all found alternative ways to stay physically active, mentally positive and connected to those in your community. Taking Canning River parkruns lead, please find below a link to a crossword all about parkrun and more specifically, Pioneer. This crossword will hopefully go some way in keeping you all mentally active and provide you with some reminders about why we all love parkrun (not that you need...ed reminding ). There are easy clues for the littlest of parkrunners, but still a few that might stump even the most seasoned of us. Feel free to discuss your answers with your parkrunning buddies in the comments section where well also attach the answer sheet in a week or so. We miss you all and cannot wait to bring Pioneer parkrun back to you in (hopefully) the near future . Your Event Team.

12.01.2022 Two more volunteers are needed for Pioneer parkrun tomorrow - a Marshall and a second Barcode Scanner. Speedier runners can do their parkrun first before they start doing the scanning. Please let us know if you can help out.
11.01.2022 A bit sad, but it is the right thing to do. Stay safe everyone and we will see you again when we all get through this. All parkrun events in Australia and New Zealand have been suspended with immediate effect due to the ongoing COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation. At this stage we have cancelled events up to the end of March. Please follow our communications channels for ongoing updates. parkruns global position is published and will be updated here. https://www.parkrun.com/news/2020/03/12/covid-19
10.01.2022 Wow, what a fantastic turnout for Pioneers 6th anniversary and what an amazing cake! Big thanks to all runners, walkers and volunteers that came down to make it a great day. 189 finishers was equal with our previous attendance record. Thanks to everyone who brought down something yummy to share, and a special thanks to Anna Bamber, who once again shared her supreme cake-making talent and generosity with us all. Looking forward to another great year of Pioneer parkruns!

08.01.2022 Beautiful morning for a run/jog/walk in the park
07.01.2022 With all the announcements of major sporting events being cancelled, this is just a clarification that Pioneer parkrun and all other parkrun events in Australia are not being cancelled at this stage due to COVID-19 as the carefully considered view is that parkrun events present a level of risk of infection that is not significantly greater than going about regular daily life. Any change to this position will be widely communicated. Lets all do our bit to minimise the risk of... transmission by using good hygiene practices, minimising unnecessary physical contact with others and by staying away if you have symptoms or any reasonable belief that you have may have come into contact with the infection. It is OK to be concerned and we understand if you would prefer to avoid larger public gatherings like parkrun while the situation remains uncertain. Otherwise, we hope to see many of you continuing to enjoy a friendly and inclusive parkrun at Pioneer and elsewhere this Saturday. See more
05.01.2022 Hi all hope everyone is in good health and still running. I have free entry to the bridges fun run 10km on Sunday to anyone that would like to have it. Feel free to respond to the post or alternatively you could private message me. Jeff Bremner
05.01.2022 If you join us at Pioneer parkrun this Saturday, it will be both our first parkrun of 2021 and our 7th anniversary. It is nice to reflect on everything that our runners, walkers, volunteers and supporters have achieved in that time and great to see the event still going strong. Everyone has a different reason for joining in at Pioneer, whether you are a dedicated regular, have a group of Pioneer friends or are someone that drops by occasionally to seek the shade in summer. Well done to everyone that has participated and contributed along the way. Hope you can join us for another great Pioneer parkrun this Saturday or again sometime soon in 2021.
