18.01.2022 'Community Fire Tanks' #CommunityFireTanks We have set a target of 100 Community Fire Tanks across SA to provide 21,600,000 litres of fire water to SA's 61 Country Fire Service (CFS) Tankers to be available AT THE BEGINING OF ANY FIRE. FYI By the end of January we should have 18 Community Fire Tanks across SA! Big CFS Tankers cart water to fill multiple Fire Trucks at the Front.... If they can fill CLOSER and FASTER (via our big 150NB Anti-Vortex and Storz Couplings) they can return to the front SOONER while fires are SMALLER! Incredibly one SA CFS crew helping in NSW at the height of the blaze traveled 6 HOURS just to re-fill... Ex Army Lt Col. (Ret) and CFS Brigade Captain 'Moose' Dunlop was stating the obvious in last weeks ABC Radio Interview "If you don't have water you can't fight a fire..." https://www.abc.net.au//breakfast/moose-cfs-online/12990478 FYI We also add a 2"/50mm Lockable brass outlet and valve with Camlok called a 'Farmers Fill Point' on the other side of each #CommunityFireTanks. Farmers have 1000 litre portable tanks (sometimes even full fire trucks) and pumps on farm vehicles so are usually first on the scene. They can re-fill and make multiple trips if they also have access to #CommunityFireTanks.
