24.01.2022 Did you know a calorie deficit can actually be the worst thing you’re doing for weight loss. If you’ve listen to all the social media trending trainers who have told you weight loss purely comes down to a calorie deficit and there is no difference between different diets. Think again.... They are ignorant to the truth and are stuck in a model of health and fitness that was around decades ago. Reposted @withregram @drmarkhyman We went from eating about 10 pounds of sugar per person, per year in 1800 to 152 pounds of sugar (and 146 pounds of flour) per person, per year today. Think about it: On average we eat about one pound of sugar every day! Those sugar-loaded foods literally become drugs: Doses of sugar and flour that hijack our metabolism and make us fat and sick. Many patients tell me once they dive into a box of chips or cookies, they literally can’t stop eating. Have you ever wondered why you would devour a box of cookies but you wouldn’t binge on wild salmon? The reason isn’t because you lack self-discipline or are weak-willed. 20.01.2022 I don’t know about you but we barely even know what day it is, what we are supposed to be doing with our life, let alone what we want to be eating right now... We do know however even for us (yes us that should have all our ‘health’ shit together) that we have definitely made the conscious decision to make 2021 the year of HEALTH. At first it seemed quite obvious to declare it the year of BUSINESS seeing as though 2020 left us closed for months only 10 days after opening and ...then prioritising a few other areas of life, however we have realised during this last week of reflection that the decade of ABUNDANCE that ‘21-‘30 is going to bring us both in family, love, money, time & freedom first and foremost is going to need to be build on a solid foundation of ‘health & happiness’! Here’s to making all tough decisions, sacrifices and prioritisation from a place of knowing this is the year we kick some decades long bad habits, really start to walk or talk even more, and once and for all get on top of some underlying health concerns! INTENTION is everything! And having a clear intention that you base your values and motives around is absolutely necessary for having any chance of actually getting what you want in life, let alone achieving your ‘#newyearsresolution ’. Yet it is so often the first thing everyone misses... If YOU HAD to pick a theme for this next year, maybe even this next decade. 18.01.2022 Happy holidays from our family to yours! Thank you so very much for the support and love from those who have joined us in some way or another over this first official year under the banner of @pioneeryourlife and the journey that was 2020. Just as the year has its seasons so too do our bodies and most certainly our business. So we will be making the most of this season to rest, recover, rejuvenate and realign our energy and our intentions for 2021 over this next couple of weeks. We have closed our diaries to clients until the 11th of Jan but will be back working ‘on’ some exciting projects (think mindset, mindfulness, gut and hormonal health) we are preparing to launch later this summer and throughout the next 12months from Jan 4th. 16.01.2022 Did you know that FEAR has to be present for courage to exist? Think of the most courageous person you know, is it that they don’t feel fear? No, they feel the fear but step forward, stand up and take action anyway. We challenge that many of you actually don’t have a ‘fear of failure’ like so commonly expressed. It’s actually just a fear of FEAR itself, and a relatively young/immature relationship with FAILURE. With the benefit of hindsight we all can find so many ‘failures’ ...in our life that actually resulting in us ended up in an even better job or better relationship etc. So what if your ‘relationship’ with failure and fear itself shifted. What if you knew that even the most courageous of us still feel fear, and that every failure you have and perceived can actually be seen as a lesson to grow or learn. What if you knew that the most successful people in health, relationships, business and life are just the ones who failed the most and quickest. Would you’re fear of failure changes? 15.01.2022 I saw a short clip recently that has promoted me to re evaluate everything. And I mean everything. We’ve all heard the cliche - life isn’t about reaching the destination, but enjoying the journey. Yet the only problem with this, linguistically, is the fact that enjoying the journey still IMPLIES there is a destination at the end of it, that you are still going somewhere. What if life purely is a musical thing and the whole purpose was to enjoy the experience.... What if P!nk was awfully close except rather than you being the music - you are purely the DANCER on the dance floor. That God (or The Universe etc.) as the DJ will change the song from time to time. Sometimes certain songs will just end and there will be a break. Sometimes the dance floor may even have a spilt drink on it and you may slip. The music may sometimes beat very well to the rhythm of Love. But sometimes Love (it) may be harder to find your rhythm to some songs he chooses to play. What if your only role - rather than journeying anywhere - was to simply sing and dance to the music?! To try and find your rhythm (Love) no matter the song? And to try and catch yourself and make it look like it was all part of your moves (the plan) when you do slip? ** Why were you even on the dance floor in the first place??? **

What if it’s the amount not type of stress we are exposed to on a daily basis? What if it’s the quantity of interaction rather than the quality of connection... that’s leaving us UNDER NOURISHED? 11.01.2022 RePosted @cassie.pioneer ADRENAL FATIGUE. This is something I’ve personally experienced & still need to work quite hard at to stay ‘balanced’. The term adrenal fatigue is not actually a medically legitimate condition (as it refers to cortisol imbalances and/or HPA axis dysfunction), HOWEVER, it describes the disruption of the adrenal glands' ability to make cortisol (a stress hormone) in the right amounts at the right times. This occurs when chronic stress puts the adrena...ls into overdrive & the glands are unable to produce enough cortisol, which can lead to dysfunction in many areas of the body. I’ve seen the effects of cortisol imbalances play out both personally and with clients I work with, and its affects can be huge! In this hyper stimulating time, stress can at times feel like it’s all consuming. I know for me, the sensitive soul that I am I can become stressed & overwhelmed when my ‘bucket’ becomes too full and when I’m not prioritising time for the things that help reduce the load. If this sounds like you too - here are 10 ways to to give your adrenal glands some LOVE: 1. Clean up your external environment - Take stock of your makeups, skin products and perfumes, the household cleaners you’re using & any mould you might be getting exposed to. Use indoor plants & air purifiers to clear the air in your home 2. Create a bedtime routine 3. Eat regular through the day & eat breakfast! 4. Eat adrenal loving foods - Complex carbs like whole grains and non-starchy lean proteins like fish and yogurt, healthy fats like avocado & seeds. Magnesium-rich foods, like dark leafy greens, nuts, & legumes, can also boost your energy & rebalance your metabolism 5. Avoid foods that cause inflammation - These typically include white sugar, white flour, salty snacks, dairy, soft drink & alcohol 6. Reduce/eliminate caffeine 7. Move your body gently - try walking, yoga, dancing, or stretching 8. Drink.More.Water! 9. Address the root cause the stress 10. 06.01.2022 Rainy arvo’s inside mean No-Bake Coconut Tahini Cashew Bars! These bars focus on that perfect sweet and salty mix and provide a creamy filling with a crunchy base in every bite. Keep these babies in your freezer and reach for one whenever a sweets craving strikes. Ingredients, base layer... * 4 pitted Medjool dates * cup raw walnuts * cup raw cashews * 1 tablespoon coconut oil * teaspoon salt Ingredients, filling * cup cashew butter * cup tahini * 1 tablespoon coconut oil * cup unsweetened dried coconut (+ extra for topping) * teaspoon cinnamon * teaspoon salt Method Place the dates in a cup of warm water for about 5 minutes, until they soften. Drain well. In a food processor, combine all of the base-layer ingredients and pulse until it has formed a doughlike consistency. If you don’t have a food processor (like I didn’t, you can mix in a blender, but the base will stay chunkier, which suited me fine!). Scoop the mixture out of the food processor and into a baking paper-lined bread pan. Place the pan in the freezer for 10 minutes and begin making the filling mixture. In a food processor (or blender), combine all of the filling ingredients. Once smooth, pour this mixture over the base layer in the bread pan. Sprinkle the extra coconut on top and place in the freezer for 15 minutes. Once frozen, pop the paper out of the bread pan and cut into 1- to 2-inch bars. Place the bars in an airtight container in the freezer and store there until ready to eat. Enjoy
05.01.2022 Did you even self care if you didn’t DIY face mask? Food is just as nourishing on the outside, as it is on the inside. This mask has become a favourite of mine recently so I thought I would share.. it’s anti bacterial, anti inflammatory, and you’ll more than likely have all the ingredients already so it’s wayyyy cheaper (& more than likely contains less nasties) than a store bought mask. - 1 tablespoon honey (Manuka if possible)... - 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon - squeeze of fresh lemon juice Mix it all up, spread on your face and leave on for 20 mins then rinse THOROUGHLY. I suggest using an old towel to dry your face as turmeric will stain, so keep that in mind! I have really started focusing on what I put on my skin over the last 18 month’s and my skin is so much better these days. Its actually crazy how much crap can go into a product! I use different food masks for different reasons. Reach out if you want some ideas x
