20.01.2022 Hello friends of Pipi! Some of you lovely people may be aware that Ben, Pip and I are adding another baby girl to our family in late January next year But things have changed course a little I have been in hospital for the past week facing the reality of a beautiful premature baby entering the world very soon. I am well and our baby girl is well and staying put for now and we are gratefully in exceptional hands - but it does mean that there may be a few changes to cafe ...trading in the coming months...we are planning on the Pipi we know and love won’t be too different, but we hope for your patience and understanding at this time if things are not quite as you are familiar with. Goodness knows I wish this wasn’t the case but life is the traversing of many ups and downs, and if this year has taught me anything - it is to remain calm and try to be hopeful and resilient in the face of uncertainty. We ask you hold tight and please bare with us we take some much needed family time and juggle this with a small business entering our busiest time of year! There will likely be a delay in responding to DM’s or emails. If you have not heard already, this COVID SAfe Check-In has been rolled out by the SA Government this week to help @sahealth_ with contract tracing and to keep our community COVID safe. It is compulsory for ANY PERSON attending Pipi to scan the QR code through the free mySA Gov app or simply by opening your camera on your smart phone and hovering it over the code, then follow the prompts, ‘check in’ and whiz bang you are all done and you can get down... to the business of enjoying fab food, great @degrootcoffeeco cups of goodness and nice times. If you don’t have a smart phone, you are still required to sign in but on a paper log book - we will provide the hand sanitiser and a pen for your convenience. We know this is a bit of a change from your usual stroll in, but while it’s here please help us out by being agreeable to this process as if you don’t - we might just send you the other way. Here’s some things you should know (again!) about the measures we are enacting and a reminder of what we are doing to keep each other safe during these ever changing COVID times. It’s a long one. 1 person per 4sq metres (this doesn’t apply to those who attend as a group)... No groups of more than 10 people Seated dining only We are still offering takeaway For now, we are still accepting keep cups and cash We are regularly cleaning and sanitising tables, chairs after each seating and other touchable surfaces Our COVID marshal’s have been doing their best requesting people to keep their distance/move outside - but please use your common sense with keeping 1.5m distance away from other people We love seeing your smiling faces around the place - but when you finish up please leave promptly, consider buying take away or even a gift voucher to use at another time and then scoot off back home Changes to restrictions made on Nov 22 are here and while we hope they are temporary, they will remain in place and change only when it is safe and possible to do so. So the long and short of it is - our capacity has been greatly reduced to 34 customers in total at any one time. We won’t tolerate any disrespectful behavior towards our staff or other customers. Please be kind, we are doing our best and we don’t make the rules - but we will uphold them for everyone’s safety. And this has not changed since the beginning of COVID restrictions - don’t touch your face, wash your hands and if you feel unwell or are showing symptoms - get tested! Your Christmas parties might be cancelled otherwise. The support we received during the last wave of this uncertainty was so very appreciated.
