25.01.2022 My son is absolutely loving his days at Pipsqueaks. The transition to this centre has been incredible with the staff being so welcoming to my family. The centre has an amazingly warm feel about it. All staff are extremely friendly and accommodating towards parents and children. We are extremely happy at Pipsqueaks and recommend it to anyone needing child care. Haley - Mum to Oliver (3 years old)

22.01.2022 Meet Danni Danni has been in early childhood education for the last 11 years. She has recently moved back to Geelong from Canberra where she has been living for the last 4 years. She has two young pipsqueaks of her own, a 2-year-old daughter and 5-month-old son who keep her rather busy. Danni is passionate about creating an inclusive, welcoming and engaging environment for all. She enjoys getting active and creative with the children as they let their ideas come to life.... When she is not at work, she is busy exploring the beach, You Yangs and different parks with her family, horse riding or experimenting in the kitchen with a 50/50 success rate

22.01.2022 Here at Pipsqueaks, we embrace all childrens differing abilities. We are committed to having high expectations for every childs learning and development and ensure that each child experiences success and is motivated to accept new challenges to learn and grow. We strongly believe in building solid connections so that we can have a deeper understanding of who they are and what they see as their strengths. ... Children are amazing and surprise us every day with what they can achieve when given the opportunity! https://www.disabilitysupportguide.com.au//researchers-ask

22.01.2022 "At first I was very hesitant putting my daughter Frankie into daycare as she is very attached to me. Frankie started at Pipsqueaks 2 months ago and she is thriving. Frankie is so happy to be there, she waved goodbye to me in the morning and its a no fuss drop off. All the staff are lovely and their sole focus is making sure the kids are happy and healthy. ... I wouldnt send Frankie anywhere else." NATEESHA - MUM TO FRANKIE (1 YEAR OLD)

22.01.2022 Dancing through the week at Pipsqueaks! Despite being incredibly fun, through dance, children learn to coordinate and control their bodies and the movement helps them develop spatial awareness.

21.01.2022 "As a first time parent I was extremely apprehensive about sending my daughter to daycare. With many new centres in the area, I didnt even bother to look further than Pipsqueaks. It was extremely important to me that my daughter was comforted to sleep, encouraged different types of play and most importantly in the hands of competent people! After my initial meeting and tour with Belinda, I knew this was the centre for us. She is professional yet nurturing and this is also ...evident in the quality of staff in the facility. Molly and Elyce are absolutely wonderful with my daughter, she genuinely loves them and is happy in their care. The centre is always beautifully clean and the food served to the children is fresh and healthy. I can not recommend Pipsqueaks enough, book a tour you will not be disappointed!" -Natasha - Mum to Delilah (8 months old)

20.01.2022 https://www.startingblocks.gov.au//what-do-teachers-and-e/ The wonder and joy we experience through the childrens eyes every day is one of the things that makes our job so rewarding. Seeing a child grasp a new concept or sharing their ideas and inspirations, inspire us to continue to strive for the best outcomes for all of our children every day.

20.01.2022 To all the mums out there. We think youre super, and should be celebrated every day. Happy Mothers Day from Pipsqueaks!

20.01.2022 You can do it Delilah! Over the past week we have seen a leap in Delilahs development, shes now commando crawling! Delilah has been working hard at getting on the move. Shes transitioned from sitting while still needing support when she first started in the Golden Wattle room, to sitting unassisted. ... She then moved to tummy time and now shes gained the strength to pull herself around the room with her arms so she can obtain toys and move freely around the room. Delilah is now able to explore the room without the assistance of her educators and interact more freely with her peers. She is no longer becoming frustrated being in the one place in the room and is excited to spend more time alone on the mats without the assistance of an educator. We have loved seeing Delilah grow and reach each new milestone in her development and we love seeing that beautiful smile as she achieves each new goal.

18.01.2022 "Both my girls have been going to Pipsqueaks for a few weeks now and I cannot fault it. The educators are caring and attentive to my kids needs and they have both learned a lot since starting. They have been super responsive in regards to letting my kids therapists see her in the daycare environment and are always quick to offer more support. ... Im really happy with our choice to go with this centre." Marie - Mum to Laura (1 year old) & Juliet (9 months old)

18.01.2022 Little Pipsqueak, Peyton, was putting quite a lot of Lego pieces together to create a masterpiece. She got a few pieces of Lego out of the tub but only gathered the same size pieces. She asked another child to help her find the same sizes. He handed her a few more pieces and kept some for his own creation. After the Lego pieces had reached the height that she wanted, she drew a circle with it in the air and said I am a Witch. She looked at Hali and said I just tur...ned you into a witch! This was a wonderful experience of open-ended and non disrupted play. Peyton was making her own choices and cooperating with others to find, sort, search and collect of what she needed. Her mind was challenged, her mathematical skills were encouraged, problem solving and negotiating skills are promptly acknowledged. She made a plan to only use the same size of lego pieces and persisted to make it happen.

Through the active engagement and encouragement of the educators, Lincoln is learning to explore the world around him.

13.01.2022 LOOKS YUM! At Pipsqueaks ELC, we encourage healthy eating and nutritious food and drinks. Healthy eating has a major influence on children’s health and wellbeing and is important because eating habits are developed in the early years and are carried through to adulthood.

13.01.2022 Yesterday a group of Pipsqueaks in the Manna Gum room were exploring the aerodynamics of how the insects in their hands would move through the air. Exploring scientific concepts of gravity together in a group context allowed them to discover this notion, share ideas and thinking based on prior knowledge of their world so far and contributing this to the overall experience of your fellow peers in the group. ... It was great to see and listen to the children making attempts to listen to each others viewpoint respectfully. During this interaction one of the of the insects was thrown so high that it landed on top of the shade sail! The children all gasped in excitement and acknowledged how high it had travelled up into to the air. Some of the children came over to share this exciting information with Ben, our amazing kindergarten teacher. Ben asked the Pipsqueaks how they would solve the problem of safely getting the grasshopper down from the sun shade. what a conundrum! They all reflected and began brainstorming solutions on how to get down the insect. This showed their building skills to think creatively to aid in solving their problem. They took turns in trialling the different approaches, such as throwing a ball up at it and using a broom. They discovered that using the ball was the most effective strategy to get the grasshopper down. Once they were successful in completing their task, they celebrated the satisfaction with achieving their shared goal.

13.01.2022 Meet Elyce. Educator at Pipsqueaks Elyce has been working in the childrens services industry for the past 7 years, in that time she has worked across numerous centres, as a nanny in Geelong, as well as taking a gap year to work in a summer camp tucked away in the Californian Forrest in America.... Elyce believes that working in the childrens industry not only do you teach the children, but the children teach you as well. She cannot wait to create a warm and fostering environment for your children to grow and learn in.

It is fantastic to have those achievements recognised and for her to have a qualification that matches her amazing abilities. We are so proud of her! 11.01.2022 Happy Friday! Something to make you smile.... Pipsqueak, Lincoln, curiously watched the mixing of the dirt and water together. When prompted to explore, straight away Lincoln put his hand into the shell pool full of mud. ... At first Lincoln splashed around while he explored the texture, consistency and temperature of the mud. Lincoln didnt hesitate as he soon went from splashing cautiously with one arm, to dipping both his arms in wildly splashing the muddy water. Lincoln was fully engaged in this new sensory experience as he pushed his body further towards the mud eagerly trying to get in and enjoying every minute of the mud play. Through mud play Lincoln is able to confidently explore his environment to learn more about the world around him. He is demonstrating an increasing awareness of new textures, tastes, sounds and feels and is using his full body to explore these new sensory experiences.

08.01.2022 At Pipsqueaks Early Learning Center, we pay respect to the Wathaurung people, the traditional owners and current custodians of the land on which we work, learn and play. We aim to promote cultural awareness in all children, including greater understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing and being. This is even more present in our minds and practices as we come to the end of National Reconciliation Week and celebrate Marbo day today. All of our children participate in an Acknowledgement of Country each day. This video depicts some of the Manna Gum children as they not only learn the words and actions but develop a respect and awareness of the importance of the land and its custodians. #NationalReconciliationWeek #NRW2020 #InThisTogether2020

03.01.2022 Pipsqueak, James, was determined to learn how to use the water pump independently. At the beginning James shook the water pump handle side to side energetically, however this method did not produce any water. Quick to try a different method, James began to try and pump the pump in the up and down manner, the pump was providing too much resistance that made it difficult for James to push through. But this did not stop James! The focus was visible by the way James approach...ed this situation. James was studying the natural movement of the pump, strategizing and problem solving on what to do. He moved the handle, and the spout to see if any water was visible. James then took a hold of the handle, lifted it up, and as he pushed the handle down he jumped. James repeated this step two more times before the water began to run. James continued to use this method before he stopped jumping and was able to push the handle down without the assistance of jumping. Alas, success at last! But James did not stop here. Once there was a flow of water running down the little pebble creek bed, James ran alongside the water, following it until it went down the drain. James hurried off to find buckets, saucepans and bowls, placing them under the water spout to catch the water. James then used this water to water the plants in the garden. James through this experience displayed determination, the ability to think quickly, and confidence to put thoughts into action. Through this experience he also showed a sense of responsibility, care and understanding of the importance of caring for our environment.
