Our cleaners are following the "Environmental cleaning and disinfection principles" as outlined by the Department of Health's guidelines when cleaning the property using hospital grade disinfectants and washing powders. ... EDIT we now have vacancy from the 29th until the 4th of April. You can stay for one week for up to 4 guests at a rate of $500 for the whole week If you are staying with us and have any signs of COVID-19 OR you are meant to be in isolation, we do ask that you notify us as soon as possible. 18.01.2022 Welcome! Wilkommen! Bienvenue! Bingvignut! A modern 2 bedroom house, located on a private road, with sweeping views of Pirates Bay surf beach all the way out to Hippolyte Rock. Our property is situated above the Lufra Hotel, Restaurant and Bar, and is a mere 5 minute walk to both Pirates Bay Beach and Tessellated Pavement. The popular tourist attractions of The Blowhole, Tasman Arch and Devils Kitchen are an 8 minute drive away. The Port Arthur Historic Site is a 20 minute ...drive south. Our property is situated on a private road that is shared with 3 other houses. The house is located on a hill overlooking Pirates Bay. During the months when whales are migrating they are often seen having a rest, feed and play in Pirates Bay. Species include Humpback and Southern Right whales and even Orcas. Due to the amazing views of the bay from the house whales can be spotted from the master bedroom and lounge room windows and from the deck! Whales migrate between May and July and September and November. Pirates Bay is a popular surf beach with several different breaks. These can also be seen from the house. The property has 2 good sized bedrooms, both with views of the beach and ocean. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and wall mounted smart tv. The second bedroom has a triple bunk bed ( double bed on bottom, single on top). There is a spacious lounge room with a wall mounted smart tv and beautifully appointed kitchen which is stocked with a selection of cereals, bread and condiments. The house has plenty of off street parking perfect for cars with boats and trailers. Just drive down the driveway and park behind the house.

17.01.2022 Had a visit to the Blowhole at Eaglehawk Neck recently. A great spot with an exceptional fish and chips van in the car park above. These guys do fresh seafood and the best chips I’ve ever had. They also have an amazing range of fresh berry ice creams and other treats. Doo-lishus Fish and Chips.

16.01.2022 The World Heritage Listed Port Arthur Historic Site is a mere 15 minute drive south from Pirates Bay Retreat. First opened in 1830 as a small timber cutting station before growing in importance and becoming a large secondary punishment station for male convicts. Ship building was introduced on a large scale to Port Arthur as a way of providing selected convicts with a useful skill they could take with them once freed. The 1853 cessation of transportation resulted in fewer tra...nsportees arriving at the station. However, the 1850s and 1860s were years of remarkable activity, that aimed to make the station economically sustainable. Port Arthur’s story did not end with the removal of the last convict. Almost immediately the site was renamed Carnarvon and, during the 1880s, land was parcelled up and put to auction, people taking up residence in and around the old site which changed its name back to Port Arthur in the 1910’s. 11.01.2022 What a stunner at Pirates Bay this morning. Bookings are open and it’s currently whale migration. This week there has been 2 Southern Right whales spotted in the bay and they are easily seen from the Retreat’s lounge or master bedroom. So if your keen for a break and some whale spotting book now.

11.01.2022 Revisited this stunning walk to Cape Hauy today. This walk begins at Fortescue Bay, about 40min drive south from Pirates Bay Retreat. Most of the drive is on a gravel forestry road hence the longer travel time. The walk has 4500 stone steps so it’s a relatively challenging all be it, quick walk at 3-4 hours return. The views that you are rewarded with a truely breathtaking.
