The rotunda cost one thousand pounds, is pagoda style with eight marbe columns and has a Willunga slate roof. 18.01.2022 1001 Books before School Achievement! This is a double award and it goes to both Ezekiel and Raphael Smith, who have successfully completed reading 1001 books before School. Well done to you both! 1001 Books before School is a simple yet effective program to encourage parents and caregivers to regularly read at home to their pre-school children. The goal is to read regularly in the years leading up to school so that the total number of books read to the child reaches 1001.... The program is ongoing and residents can register for the program at either the Port Pirie or Crystal Brook Libraries.

12.01.2022 Flashback Friday The Institute Building at Port Pirie, built in 1896 is a symmetrical two storey stone building with bay windows on either side of the porticoed entrance. The roof features a centre gable and widows walk. A new building, opened by Premier Hill was completed around this time. Crystal Brook Station was originally Bowman's horse paddock. Mr CW Mathews first went there in 1863 when he was given a job. He and his wife lived there for seven years. 03.01.2022 Welcome Back! Its with great pleasure that we announce that two of our regular volunteers at the Port Pirie Library have returned to the fold. Pictured are Jacob Window and Rebekah Stubbs (our dynamic duo!). Both have helped our staff bring a better service over the years. ... Jacob has assisted with home library deliveries and IT training for the public, and Rebekah has always provided hands on help with our youth programs and home library book selection. In all, both contribute in many wonderful ways and its a great feeling knowing that they are both back and well. Welcome back :)
