07.01.2022 Our delicious Torta Caprese is back! This cake takes its name from the Island of Capri. Apparently in the 1920s a group of Mafia men on behalf of Al Capone arrived on the Island of Capri. The pastry chef was mortified when he realised that he had forgotten the flour in the cake, but the mobsters like the chocolaty cake so much they asked for its name. Hence the name "Torta Caprese".
