23.01.2022 Someone asked the question - What do you think about attending Taekwondo class just 1 day each week. This is the answer.... The problem with training once a we...ek and then training on your own for 6 days a week is that: [Day 1] Your instructor teaches you good technique and form {Days 2 - 7] You practise what you think your instructor said, but don’t get it all correct, and it's tough to train alone without an instructor's guidance, so by day 5 you decide to wait until your next lesson. [Day 8] Your instructor spends an hour trying to help you catch up to where you were at end of your first lesson. OR [Days 2 - 7] You do no practise [Day 8] Your instructor goes through the same techniques which you have not practised and have mostly forgotten. That's why training more frequently will give you a much better grounding in good technique reducing the possibility of picking up bad habits that are hard to break! If you can only attend one lesson each week it's worth investing a good training aid - a mirror! Set it up so you can see your start and finish points, stances and body angles. You don't always feel when your stance is wrong - a mirror will show you straightaway so you can self-check and correct.

17.01.2022 Grade and Go! Re the grading tomorrow and COVID-19. This is not a big grading and its in two sections as usual so were not expecting a large number of people... in the hall at one time, but we want to reduce the chance of spreading the virus so when you have graded please leave. There will be boxes of tissues and hand sanitiser in the hall for everyone to use. Have a good grading everyone! See more

12.01.2022 Senior Instructor Lenny Too 4th Dan Lenny has been training with Grandmaster and MI Margaret for 30+ years since the earliest days of Taekwondo in Brisbane. H...es taught many students from White Belt through to Black Belt and trained several to become excellent instructors too. Senior Instructor Lenny is a quiet achiever, quiet by nature and an achiever in his role as Senior Instructor. He has a reputation for excellent technique and some of the best flying side kicks! Now he is passing on the same excellent technique to the branch members at Arana Hills.

11.01.2022 A message from Grandmaster and Master Inst Margaret Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Aust government has now banned all types of indoor training and sports acti...vities, including martial art classes. So as from yesterday, 24th March all branches of Pacific Int Taekwondo are closed. Understandably its disappointing, but at the same time a relief to know that our instructors and members will be prevented from catching or spreading the virus while attending training. This is a temporary cancellation only. Pacific International Taekwondo, and our fantastic team of instructors and assistants are not going anywhere! For now we just have to be patient and know that this time will pass. The good thing about Taekwondo is that you dont have to be in a training hall to do it and it can be practised anywhere, - with or without a partner. When its over well continue on, so while branches are closed right now, we can all continue training and improving our techniques at home. Youll be receiving an email very soon about new home training plans and other ways you can maintain and improve your Taekwondo skills. For now the important thing is to stay healthy. Maintain the recommended rules re social distancing and hand-washing etc and well all get through this unforgettable and tough time together. Grandmaster & Master Inst Margaret

11.01.2022 Finally! After months of training outside in the park Arana Hills branch members can restart training in their hall again as from tomorrow.

03.01.2022 Re Taekwondo training and the COVID-19 virus. We want you to know we are taking the virus seriously and will be taking care to avoid all unnecessary contact (close partner training) during our classes. Luckily our class sizes are small so we can space students widely apart to maintain social distancing. Class training will include the practise of techniques, fitness and stretches that we rarely have time for - as well as individual patterns. Although hand sanitiser is unavai...lable well be having regular handwashing breaks too. So for now class training is on as usual, we will keep you up to date via this page and the newsletter too.
