20.01.2022 NATIONAL PROPERTY MANAGERS DAY / Today we're celebrating our Property Managers and their team, for their hard work throughout the year and particularly the pand...emic that still continues. This group work tirelessly behind the scenes, negotiating best possible outcomes for both landlords and tenants. Being a Property Manager definitely isn't always pretty , but it's generally incredibly rewarding However, over the past few months, it's been very, very hard. We've seen them adapt to increased workloads and paperwork almost overnight. They've managed negotiations around rent reductions, landlords wishing to move into their properties due to financial strain, assessing financial capacity of potential tenants with reference to changes to Government allowances and so much more, all in addition to their regular workload. And then there's been the incredibly emotional circumstances with landlords and tenants facing financial hardship due to job losses on both sides. We are SO proud of them, the way they've handled themselves, stepped up, and dedicated themselves 100% to doing their very best for our clients. This is a long post, but we're not sorry, because this lot have been absolute 's, and there's a lot we needed to say. Happy #nationalpropertymanagersday

06.01.2022 R U OK? This day represents a lot of things that goes on behind closed doors that is not spoken of, not regularly anyways. A CONVERSATION CAN CHANGE A LIFE... R U OK? Inspires and empowers everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and start a conversation with anyone who may be struggling with life. You don’t need to be an expert to reach out just a good friend who will be a great listener. There are 4 things that could change a life: 1. Ask R U OK? 2. Listen 3. Encourage action 4. Check in R U OK? continues to be inspired by the amazing support they get from their partners and sponsors, Community Ambassadors and community volunteers as they all work towards our vision of a world where all people are connected and are protected from suicide. Some of these being KitKat, QBE, Connor, Anytime Fitness, Yellow pages, Audi and many, many more Katherine Newton, CEO, R U OK?, says 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and circumstances have made it even more important for us all to stay connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those around us. Time is one of the most valuable things we can share with the people that we care about, said Ms Newton. When someone in your life is struggling it’s natural to ask them if they’re OK but it can sometimes be difficult to know what to say next. R U OK? is encouraged by its recent data that demonstrates Australians increasingly understand how important it is for them to reach out to those around them who might be struggling. Our latest evaluation measures show that most people feel confident they know how to have a conversation with someone who might be struggling with life but 31% of Australians lack confidence or are unsure how to have a conversation with someone who is not OK, says Ms Newton. We want to help them learn what to say after R U OK? because a conversation could change someone’s life. This year R U OK? Day coincides with World Suicide Prevention Day which will further raise awareness of the scale of suicide globally and the role that each of us can play in prevention efforts. We can all make a difference in the lives of those who might be struggling by having regular, meaningful conversations about life 's ups and downs. If you feel like something’s not quite the same with someone you know there’s something going on in their life or you notice a change in what they’re doing or saying - trust that gut instinct and take the time to ask them Are you OK? By acting as ‘eyes and ears’ and reaching out to anyone who's going through a tough time we can show them they’re supported and encourage them to access help sooner. If you need more information or to find help, use this link: https://www.ruok.org.au/findhelp WE SUPPORT "R U OK" DAY - EVERYDAY
05.01.2022 A study in America showed that 96 percent of four-year-olds had high self-esteem and a strong self-image. These children believed that the world was at their feet: they could become astronauts, ballerinas, doctors, cowboys, pilots whatever they wanted. Their typical fantasy games showed how clearly they were able to visualize these dreams. The shocking part of the study was that by the time they reached eighteen less than 5 percent had a good self-image. Along the way they ...had been told, You can’t sing, You’re clumsy, Who do you think you are? You’ll never be a success. As we grow older, our self-image is molded increasingly by external influences, whether it be a teacher telling us we’re incapable of learning, a parent insisting we’re clumsy, or even a friend who, with the best intentions, implies repeatedly that our cooking is hopeless. Such comments are collected and stored in the subconscious mind, and our subconscious mind uses them to undermine our original self-image and replace it with a more doubting one. - Robin Sieger

01.01.2022 Are you above the line taking personal responsibility? Or are you below the line finding it easier to deny, blame or excuse? Taking full responsibility for your thinking and behaviour is the crucial first step to all success and long-term happiness.
