25.01.2022 Pittsworth! You’ll be pleased to know that a whole heap of hampers are on their way to homes in our town tomorrow. Lots of families who are doing it tough at the moment can enjoy some goodies delivered straight to their door. Thanks for such a fantastic response. We live in a great part of the world. We are proud to call this region our home!

24.01.2022 We are here to help you! At the moment we are working on a way to still engage with you and provide you all as much support as possible throughout this time. One thing you can all do is check in with someone in our community and make sure they are doing well. If anyone is requiring support, please let us know!

23.01.2022 Hey guys! We’ve had lots of enquires as to whether Pittsworth Community Kitchen will be open this week. At this stage, yes we will be! We will, of course, follow direction from the Government, particularly Toowoomba Regional Council. We will let you know as soon as possible if things change throughout the week. We wish everyone good health, peace, and an enjoyable week. Hopefully see you on Thursday night for another free 3-course dinner and an awesome night of fun!

20.01.2022 Haines Wilson - what a treasure of a company! Guys, these champions donated $300 (!!!!) which has been turned into Woolies gift cards for those in our community. We have a pretty fantastic region, don’t we?! if you haven’t already, give them a follow and like on Facebook!

12.01.2022 What a fun morning delivering hampers to people in our community!

11.01.2022 This is the beautiful Ellen! She is the store manager of Pittsworth Woolworths. Today the store gave us a whole heap of groceries to make hampers for you to be delivered on Friday. So another 5 hampers are available. If you know if anyone who could do with some assistance, please send us a private message.

09.01.2022 Hi friends! Due to the current COVID19 pandemic, we have made the sad decision to postpone this fortnight’s community kitchen. It has been advised that the virus can last on surfaces for over 24 hours. Therefore, the provision of food over counters could be a form of transmission. Advice has also been provided that population clusters of over 50 increases the chances of contracting and spreading the virus by a few percent. Doctors currently advise that COVID-19 will get wor...se before it gets better, and that is what we need to respect and adhere to. We have a number of elderly people who regularly attend our event, and we want to ensure everyone, especially these beautiful people, stays safe and healthy through this time. One of our favourite things about seeing you every fortnight is not just to feed you, but it’s to chat with, catch up with, and get to know you all! We would really love to continue the social aspect of Pittsworth Community Kitchen, so therefore we will be paying extra attention to our Facebook page, and will make a greater attempt to engage with you all through this space. Please message us at any time if you require someone to talk to or have a laugh with. We value you all SO MUCH, and will be keeping you updated with the date of our next opening! Reece and Christina Barker

07.01.2022 Thanks to McLeans Farms for the provision of eggs for our community. Dozens of eggs are going out to homes today. Keep in touch guys, let us know if we can help you!

06.01.2022 Friends! Yesterday we delivered some pumpkins around town! Hopefully those of you who received one have been able to make something yummy with them. We have three dozen eggs to give away. If you missed out on a pumpkin yesterday, flick us a message and we will get you a dozen eggs. Remember to keep checking in on your neighbours and making sure everyone is okay. We are looking forward to resuming the kitchen and catching up with you all again!

06.01.2022 Hi to everyone in our beautiful community! Highlands Church has so generously been providing care hampers for our community in both Pittsworth and Toowoomba. They are an excellent group of people, and we thank them so much for their support for our beautiful town. We have already given a few away, but have a few left - so if you would like one, please send us a message and we will deliver them to you on Friday. Additionally, today we got a SUPER cool phone call from Ellen, ...the manager at Pittsworth Woolworths. This afternoon she and I are going to be shopping for some staples to also provide to you all. Cool hey! She is providing these goods completely free as a way to support those around us during the pandemic. So hopefully we’ll be able to get a few more hampers together to hand out! Thank you Pittsworth Woolworths!! Can we also put in a sneaky shout out to Yolande Robinson, one of the Pittsworth Community Kitchen volunteers, for organising this with Woolworths. Yolande has such a big heart for this town. Thank you Yolande for organising this for us!!!

04.01.2022 Good morning! The beautiful Rohde family has kindly given us some pumpkins. If anyone would like one (thinking pumpkin soup?!), let us know and we can drop it off to you. EDIT: Massive response guys - all pumpkins have been allocated to good homes this afternoon

04.01.2022 Dozens of hot cross buns have today been provided to residents of Pittsworth! We had two boots filled with boxes. Thank you Pittsworth Woolworths for such a kind donation today to so many people in our community. We’ve also stocked the chest freezer so that we can cook up lots of desserts with them when we return!

02.01.2022 Hey friends! It’s been a while since we’ve jumped on socials and had a chat with you! Unfortunately, COVID has created a multitude of restrictions for us, however, here’s a cool story that we reckon you guys would enjoy! A few months back, Cains Pharm organised a raffle with all proceeds donated to Pittsworth Community Kitchen. We’ve kept this donation safe... until today! This morning, Reece met a lady who is struggling financially and who could not afford to put food on the table. We quickly arranged a Coles grocery order for her to be delivered, and will be arriving at her place shortly. A huge shoutout and thanks to Cains Pharmacy! We love that our community is looking out for each other. We are hoping to get up and running soon guys. Watch this space for updates of our reopening

01.01.2022 Pittsworth! Here’s a little reminder that you are valued, loved, and are so important to our region. Our hearts break for those who are affected by the Coronavirus. Many of you have lost jobs, and are suffering the economic impacts of the current situation. ... If you are struggling, can we please encourage you to get in contact with us via our Facebook page. We have some upcoming initiatives that will be implemented very shortly, and we would really like to be able to help you as much as we can during this time. We will release details of these initiatives in the coming days. In the meantime, please know how much we value you all, and are so looking forward to getting together in the big hall again!
