24.01.2022 Pittsworth vs Millmerran Pittsworth 10/304 off 38 Millmerran 5/220 off 40 Great win by the boys today against arch rivals Millmerran.... Holty won the toss and chose to bat, first toss won for the year Things didn’t go to the plan with Pj brown out in the 5th over. This bought Holty to the crease, Jack loveday batted beautifully with some glorious drives through the covers but was stumped in the 11th over. Wickets kept falling constantly through out the innings with some contributions from everyone. Mentions to Jogga, Holty, Jack Loveday getting the total to 304. Holty 175, Jogga 38, Jack Loveday 25. Bowling started out brilliantly with Pj brown and Jacob Cameron providing some of the best opening bowling we have seen before. The boys bowled the overs straight through finishing with 16 overs 1/39. Great effort by Pj and Jacob. Jogga then come on and took the wickets with 3 quick ones. Things continued on from there with a solid bowling performance restricting Millmerran to 220 off the 40 overs. Pj brown 8 overs 1/15 (4 maidens) Jacob 8 overs 0/23 (2 maidens) Wardy 7 overs 1/43 Jogga 5 overs 3/30 Zac Thompson 4 over 0/13 Frosty 4 overs 0/29 Tremendous effort by the whole team today and a great win heading into finals. Next game is another home game against bowenville next Sunday.
21.01.2022 Pittsworth vs Bowneville Pittsworth 7/200 40 overs Bowenville 2/205 20 overs Not a great day at the office for the pelicans but still some good positives to come out of the game.... Holty won the toss and we chose to bat. Jordy Oshea and Jack Loveday put on a nice start with Jack unfortunately being run out with the score on 35. Jordy kept fighting with some beautiful shots to end on 46. It was solid contributions throughout the innings that really showed some fight to get us to 200. Jogga the pick of the batsmen with a not out 57 at the end. Jogga 57 not out Jordy 46 Jack Loveday 24 The bowling didn’t start out that well either with Holty and Jacob copping some stick early on. Bowenville had great intent early to finish the game as quick as possible, which they did just on the drinks break at 20 overs. Wickets to Holty and Wardy with 1 each. Holty 1/40 Wardy 1/45 Jacob 0/52 Jordy 0/52 Not a great day for the team but we showed some fight with the bat coming into finals. Next weeks game is our last home game for the season against southbrook.
21.01.2022 Nobby vs Pittsworth 1st semi final Nobby 5/297 Pittsworth 9/205... Unfortunately the lads didn’t get a win today and were knocked out of the finals, but the day went like this. Nobby won the toss and chose to bat first. As usual their quality line up started well with skipper Cameron moody and nick budden getting them to 1/130. After that it was uphill. Everyone kept fighting hard but Nobby ended a great innings of 5/297. Standout highlight off the bowling innings was Frosty taking the wicket of Tim Dowe caught on the boundary by Zac Thompson. Bowling C. Ward 2/53 off 8 J. Ellison 1/24 off 4 Pj Brown 1/39 off 8 The batting innings didn’t start that great with Gleeso being run out in the 1st over and Holty out not long after that. But the boys kept fighting all the way to the end. A standout performance from young Ed Mcginn was the highlight, with some great contributions from Jack Loaveday and Jogga Ellison. Jack loveday opened the batting very well and showed promise driving straight down the ground. At one stage we were 5/70 and Ed and Jogga took the team to 170 before their partnership was broken. The game may have been out of reach but the fight to not get bowled out was brilliant. Massive congratulations to Ed Mcginn on his best performance for the year. Ed 68 not out Jogga 46 Jack loveday 33. It has been a long year for the team and sometimes things haven’t gone our way but everyone had a lot of fun and good times along the way. We would like to thank all our supporters, friends, family, sponsors and team members for the year we have had and we have loved every minute of it. This year has been a very good season especially for our young team to stand out and grow. Thank you very much We hope to see anyone at our presentation on the 10th of May.

17.01.2022 Pittsworth vs Southbrook Pittsworth 10/221 Southbrook 3/227 Things started out as planned with another toss won by the pelicans and they chose to bat.... A new opening partnership seen Gleeso and Jordy open the batting together and Pj drop down the order. It looked promising until Gleeso got caught on the 5th ball of the first over. Holty and Jordy steadied the ship for a little until Holty was caught and bowled for 15. Jordy Oshea didn’t give up yet and blasted a quick 85 and was out just before drinks. 3/120 at drinks was a promising start but shortly after things seemed a bit dim with the score 5/150. Some good positive partnerships from the lower order Zac, Wardy, Jogga, frosty got the score to all our 221. Bowling started well with Pj producing a very impressive opening spell unlucky not to get more wickets. Southbrook were 2/94 at drinks with the game evenly poised. Some outstanding tight bowling from Jogga and Wardy kept us in the game. Jogga bowling 3 maidens in a row at one stage. Things turned pretty quickly after the 3rd wicket with young Tonkin tearing the game apart with 91* in no time. It was all to late for the boys with southbrook getting the runs with 3 overs left. Was a great game with some very positive performances with bat and ball by the whole team. Bowling figures Jogga 1/14 off 8 Wardy 1/22 off 8 Pj 2/41 off 8 That was the last game of the season for the pelicans with a bye next week. Results going our way we are hoping to play finals in 2 weeks time. If not it has been a great season by all and thank you to all players and supporters for keeping the team going all year.
