13.01.2022 Dear Pittsworth Community, We are writing to you today with a request for assistance to ensure the future of the Pittsworth Kindergarten. It has come to our attention that the Kindergarten is in need of a significant overhaul in its operational, financial and management practices if it to remain a solvent for future students to enjoy. We like many volunteer parent committees are finding that the time commitment, pressure and increased financial, legal and regulatory demand...s of running a kindergarten are becoming beyond the scope of our skill set. We are also finding that it is getting more and more difficult to recruit parents or community members with the time and necessary skills to operate what is a complex small business. Not only this, the continual changeover of committee members on an annual basis has meant that there is often little consideration for the long-term planning or financial viability of the kindergarten. We are seeking the assistance of some volunteers with backgrounds in financial, accounting, legal or business management to join the committee, either as general members or Executive Members for a three-year period. We understand this would be a long commitment, however, the reason for this time frame, is that again; we need continuity of management for the kindergarten. If we are not able to find anyone by 21st of July when we will be holding a ‘Special Meeting’ at the kindergarten to announce the final decision; which is open to everyone to attend, we will be starting the process of having our kindergarten transfer from an affiliate to a C&K Branch. This would provide continuity to the kindergarten and would mean that professionals would handle the financial and legal management of the kindergarten. This is not a negative thing, as it would help ensure the financial viability of the kindergarten for future students, take pressure of parents and provide stability of management to the teachers. Parents and community involvement in the kindergarten would still be encouraged. If you feel you have the skill set and would have the time to dedicate to the running of the Kindergarten for that period of time, or have any questions or comments about the Kindergartens situation please contact us as soon as possible at [email protected].
