23.01.2022 Spring has sprung and the girls are laying again! FINALLY! :D
23.01.2022 43 degrees in Launching Place, Vic today! Chickens are really susceptible to heat stress. So I keep mine as cool as possible by using frozen 600ml bottles placed inside their waterers to keep the water nice & cool. I also place a couple of frozen 2ltr bottles in their pens for them to sit on - you can see my porcelaine girl up the back of the video checking one out!... And of course, frozen treats are a must. Frozen watermelon is a favourite for my chooks & it lasts for hours!
20.01.2022 40 degrees celsius today in Launch.. 43 tomorrow! The animal are hot & bothered. Frozen treats, regular cold water & frozen bottles of water to perch on are the order of the day.
