25.01.2022 This ingenious oil lamp can be traced back to 1891. And could be older. We discovered it in a shack on the roadside on the way to Port Arthur. Notice the hand blown chimney.

25.01.2022 This was a lovely project for a customer who wanted to have her 21st birthday present restored for a grandchild. Needless to say there were plenty of hours and equipment and spare parts from our collection used. We also required help from John the paint genie to match the colour perfectly. We will never be able to get that brass completely smooth again but I think she is more beautiful with her history on show.

20.01.2022 3 pretty little angels in time for Christmas. 1920’s boudoir lamps all newly wired with brass lamp holders , cotton covered flex and inline switch

19.01.2022 1920’s French 6 arm pendant. Cast brass , bound in silk rope with reproduction candle sleeves and silk shades.

19.01.2022 The right lighting maketh the room, so sayeth Oakwood Restorations's Peter Hames...

18.01.2022 1920’s cut glass lamp.

12.01.2022 1920’s square wedding cake chandelier. Very rare. Exquisite blue icicle drops and lovely nickel lace for the top hoop. I love this one. She’s old English bling.

10.01.2022 Stay tuned chandelier lovers. This lady’s gonna take a lot of work but I think she’ll be worth it. Update. Cleaned , repaired and wired. Just waiting for candle sleeves

09.01.2022 1920’s two arm pendant with hand blown ruby glass shades.

07.01.2022 In the 1930’s the Art Deco world experimented by taking natural forms and giving them a geometric edge. This in an interesting take on the better known shell shade. This is an architectural waterfall . It’s designed to refract the light in the same way water does. The chrome is so shiny that you can see how messy the living room was (this photo was taken during school holidays haha ) and the moulded glass is very thick and whiter than the warm globe would have you believe. I think this shade would look his best on a chrome chain set with black cotton covered flex.

04.01.2022 This image was copied from the 1910’s Sears lighting catalogue. Precious lights , frolicking in the grass at antique markets begging me to take them home and restore them, so they can live another 100 years.
