03.01.2022 This is a property we were called out to in the Kew area as the previous contractor walked off the job after being paid in full before the job was completed. We had previously quoted this job, but as the owner needed the fence completed quicker than I could get there they opted for another contractor. I've seen some dodgy things in my time but this is by far one of the worst. ... Posts weren't rammed in properly, they were loose, Gates hadn't been hung & the mesh was laying on the ground. This contractor was paid upfront and a difference of $4,500 between my original quote and theirs. So not only did the owner get taken for a ride, she ended up with a fence that wasn't complete and extra cost for us to fix all the mistakes. This post is aimed at making people aware that there are dishonest people out there. You should never pay upfront for a job that's not completed to a standard. Don't get stung on a dodgy job.
