25.01.2022 Webinar on live interaction with State Bank of Pakistan’s Officials regarding the Roshan Pakistan Digital Account ****************************************************** It is to kindly inform that a webinar is scheduled to be held on Tuesday 17 November 2020 at 6 PM AEDT through Zoom. The webinar will afford an opportunity to our community members living in Australia for direct online interaction with the State Bank of Pakistan’s officials to answer community questions ...regarding different aspects of the Roshan Digital Account. The honourable Managing Director Deposit Protection Corporation/ Executive Director SBP has kindly consented to chair this awareness session from SBP side. Senior officials from State Bank of Pakistan will give presentations about (a) Roshan Digital Accounts and (b) home remittance initiatives. In addition, senior officials from: (1) all banks offering Roshan Digital Accounts, and (2) large banks involved in home remittances business in Pakistan; would also attend the webinar. 16.01.2022 The High Commission for Pakistan Canberra, Australia and Baluchistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT) jointly organized a Virtual meeting on investment opportunities in Balochistan. Several Australian companies specializing in mines & minerals, agriculture, IT & construction sector participated.The High Commissioner Babar Amin in his opening remarks, underscored the immense potential in diverse sectors of Baluchistan’s economy for investment by the Australian companies. The CEO of BBoIT Mr. Farmaan Zarkoon also highlighted that IT, e-commerce, mines, minerals, energy & power, agriculture, livestock,fisheries, tourism, and urban development as priority areas for attracting Australian investment. The event followed discussion and question answer session.



13.01.2022 High Commissioner Babar Amin deliberated upon technical and vocational education cooperation with Mr. Craig Robertson, CEO, of TAFE Australia ****************************************************** The High Commissioner for Pakistan H.E. Babar Amin met with Mr. Craig Robertson, CEO of TAFE Australia today. Mr. Ronald Jackson, Director Strategy & Tertiary Financing, TAFE Australia, Deputy High Commissioner, Mr. Aamer Ahmed Atozai and First Secretary, Mr. Zain Ul Abidin al...so participated in the meeting. Technical and Further Education (TAFE) is a statutory vocational education and training provider in Australia. 2. Meeting was focused on exploring further avenues of cooperation between National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) of Pakistan and TAFE in vocational and technical training fields. On a proposal by the High Commissioner, TAFE agreed to explore possibility of signing agreements for equivalence and articulation with Pakistani technical institutions to open pathways for Pakistani students to continue education in Australia. 3. Taking into consideration the COVID pandemic and resultant travel restrictions, TAFE agreed to initiate technical discussions with NAVTTC though virtual mode and consider delivering online lectures to the Pakistani students. 4. TAFE also agreed to sign an MoU with NAVTTC for cooperation in vocational and technical education fields. The MoU will provide legal framework and leverage for implementation of cooperation initiatives. Canberra 12 November 2020

13.01.2022 Memorial dedication services to Honour Lt. Nasir Hussain Khalid Selhria (Shaheed), Royal Military College, Duntroon ****************************************************** Royal Military College (RMC) Duntroon, Canberra, held memorial services at the College to commemorate its Pakistani Cadet Graduate, Lt Nasir Hussain Khalid Selhria Shaheed who rendered ultimate sacrifice while performing his duties to the Nation in North Waziristan District on 4 September 2020. He ther...eby upheld the rich and deep embedded traditions of the esteemed institution of Australian Defence Forces. Lt Selhria’s name has also been engraved on the Monumental Stone at the RMC, Duntroon dedicated to the memory of its graduates who gave their lives in the service of their country. Memorial Services were attended by College Staff, Graduating Course, Faculty, Pakistan’s Defence Advisor Brigadier Shoaib Bin Akram, Tamgha e Basalat and his spouse Tahira Gul. The services included: - Run down on Pakistan Army’s contribution in War on Terror. - Narration of Lt Nasir Selhria Shaheed’s short but accomplished Military life. - Talk by Pakistan’s Defence Advisor, to the Graduating Class on Role of Young Officers in Future War. - Laying of Wreath on behalf of Corps of Staff Cadets, Australian and Pakistan Armies and the College, at the monumental stone. - The ‘Last Post’ / National anthems of two Nations. - Prayers for remembrance, Peace and Holy Quran recitation. The gesture of honouring the Pakistani Cadet Graduate Lt. Nasir Hussain Khalid Selhria has been highly lauded by the High Commissioner for Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Babar Amin who has expressed his gratitude to the Australian Ministry of Defence, and Australian Defence Forces for the ownership of Lt. Selhria by the Royal Military College Duntroon. 04.01.2022 The High Commission for Pakistan organized a virtual meeting between senior officials of Ministry of National Health Services Regulation and Coordination (NHSR&C) of Pakistan and the Australian Government Department of Health, and Commonwealth Scientific & Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO). In the context of extraordinary challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, both sides discussed ways and means to enhance cooperation in this regard. They shared their national exp...eriences in combating the pandemic and measures taken by the respective governments for the protection of people. Both countries explored collaboration avenues for development, production and testing of Covid-19 vaccine. The Ministry of National Health Services Regulation and Coordination also expressed interest in further discussions about cooperation between the health authorities of Pakistan and Australia especially in formalizing institutional arrangements between health authorities, public health services, women and child health, Regulatory requirements for export of health equipment and cooperation in the fields of health education and nursing. On the invitation of Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI), High Commissioner Babar Amin today participated as the keynote speaker in a roundtable discussion. The issues of foreign and security policy surrounding South Asia including Afghanistan, Pakistan-India relations, situation in Jammu and Kashmir as well as developments in South-East Asia and Oceania, were discussed. ASPI is a renowned think tank based in Canberra specializing in research and reporting on issues of foreign and security policy. Mr. Michael Shoebridge, Director, Defence, Strategy & National Security, ASPI, moderated the meeting, whereas, the ASPI’s scholars, analysts, research fellows and publications staff participated in the interactive session. The High Commissioner delivered a comprehensive yet succinct, keynote statement, encompassing broad-based issues of mutual interest, elaborating Pakistan’s point of view on several emerging political developments and on existing global challenges.
