25.01.2022 I was going through an old hard drive and came across these gems! Feel free to tag people you recognise - especially yourself, if youre in there!
23.01.2022 Thanks Paul Rushton for the trip down memory lane :-)
22.01.2022 I caught up with another of our legends at Perth airport the other day - another inspirational character who has really made something of his life. Now recovering from his motorbike accident, heres a tribute to the artist formerly known as Party Paul, cheers to Paul Rushton!
21.01.2022 Heres a nostalgic flashback to one of the truly memorable days in the 14 year chapter of my life that was the Club Red Backpackers experience, meeting wonderful people from all over the world and creating a ripple of international harmony. This was my final birthday party at my old home away from home with the amazingly talented Perth band, Vdelli performing in our back yard.
21.01.2022 Does anyone recognise this event and place or the rascals in the picture?
20.01.2022 Heres a happy memory courtesy of Lauren OReilly :-)
18.01.2022 Great news! Sorry to the girls though - one of our old backpacking family, James Bardell is finally off the eligible bachelors list. He popped the question and Emily said yes. Congrats to you both on your engagement :-)
18.01.2022 Congrats to Ben Wood and Jackie on their engagement :-)
17.01.2022 Heres a big shout out to one of our former team members who managed Club Red Cars for us for many years and also drove the bus on many Club Red Tours. Congrats Glen Riggs and wife Tracy on your expanding family - a son to add to your two daughters! :-)
17.01.2022 Some of you may remember Nathan Kaye from when he stayed with us in Perth :-)
17.01.2022 Heres an old reminder of one of our famous fancy dress parties from 1997. Drop us a line and let your old mates know how life is treating you these days!
16.01.2022 I returned to my Perth hills home after playing beach volleyball the other evening (yes, indoor cos its Winter) and found a kangaroo on my front verge. It was dark and he hoppped off before I could get a photo. He obviously didnt want to be tied down, sport. I reckon it might have been the same one I saw in our back yard a few weeks back.
15.01.2022 Back in 2000 with the Club Red Backpackers Soccer Team - soccer with pom poms! We had an enthusiastic cheer leader!
14.01.2022 News on the grapevine was that the hostel officially closed on May 31st 2020
14.01.2022 For some unknown reason, this reminded me of the hostel days...
14.01.2022 Well look who just dropped in for a coffee catch up! George now has his own truck with a crane on the back so if any Perth peeps need anything moving around, George Barr is the man!
12.01.2022 For those members of our global family who may have missed the post and subsequent reconnections with old friends
12.01.2022 What is your favourite anecdote from your days at our old backpackers hostel between March 1996, when I bought it and April 2010 when I sold the business? Be careful - you may ruin some promising political careers!
11.01.2022 Congrats to former Redbackpacker inmate Steve McMahon (AKA Cherry Ripe Steve) and partner, Danielle on the birth of their son, Sean. :-)
10.01.2022 Memories of musical nights - Tony with Glenn Treagus c.2001
08.01.2022 One of the main reasons for this page was to provide a platform where old friends could stay in touch and share news updates about the progress weve all made. I have some news where I was awaiting a positive outcome before posting. My old mate and busking partner, Glenn Treagus recently had a fall from a first floor roof in Darwin and has spent almost two weeks in a coma in ICU in Darwin Hospital. His condition was regarded as critical. Out of respect for his family, I didn...t want to say anything yet. Today though, his partner, Jackie finally reported that Glenn has opened his eyes and even waved a finger at a nurse who was speaking with him this morning. Our thoughts and love go out to Glenn, Jackie and all their family, who have been by his side throughout this ordeal. Ill keep you posted as soon as I have more news. Thats how quickly your life can change - in an instant, so make it count guys PS Glenn stayed at the hostel and worked with us, heading up Club Red Cleaning around 2000/2001 and returned a few times after that.
05.01.2022 The Invincibles!

02.01.2022 Well, heres a blast from the past - I came across this when going through a box of photos. Its Glenn Treagus and me playing guitar on St Pats Day, so it would have been March 17th. Im guessing maybe 2001 - can anyone advise?
