22.01.2022 Novels written by women using male pseudonyms have been reissued using the authors' actual names. The 'Reclaim Her Name' collection will contain 25 book titles... with the real authors' names and feature newly commissioned cover art from female designers. The collection has also been released to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Women's Prize for Fiction - UK's most prestigious annual book award dedicated to female writers. Throughout history many female writers had to use male names to get their work published. For example, The Brontë Sisters originally published their novels under the names of Currer, Ellis and Acton Bell. The reasoning behind this (according to Charlotte Brontë) was because the women were concerned their work would be "looked on with prejudice."
