23.01.2022 Happy and safe travels to our beautiful staff members Kowunduh and Pearl. They are taking off today on an amazing 1 year trip around Australia where they will be going on adventures, working along the way and connecting with Indigenous artists to source pieces and products to bring back to our beautiful shop here in the heart of Byron Bay on Bundjalung Country. You can follow their journey too by following @_yumbalay_ to see what they get up to and the places they see. It’s... so sad to see these two go but we are so proud and excited for them both to be going on this journey but don’t worry we will be following you both very closely. Their first destination will be Tasmania. So stay tuned for updates and posts. Stay safe guys, we will miss you both so much at the shop but look forward to seeing the places, people and artist you meet along the way. Lots of love

13.01.2022 A deep love of, and connection to nature, the earth and the wisdom of our First Nations Peoples are the focus of this interview with Iris Ray Nunn on Your Freedom Unlimited this week. Iris is an established writer and has just released her first book: Climbing the World’s Tallest Tree which is available in store and online at Planet Corroboree. Iris's book will lead you on a suburban woman’s journey through Australia and North America where she evokes a series of encounters... with Elders and ancient knowledge. Despite the environmental challenges facing humanity, these wisdom teachings show us how to live joyfully inside a rapidly changing environmental system.' Understanding Australia’s true history is paramount to understanding ourselves as women and men in Australia today. Climbing the World’s Tallest Tree is an extraordinary memoir about an ordinary Australian girl who had a dream that changed her life. https://planetcorroboree.com.au//climbing-the-worlds-talle and on Iris's website also https://www.deeplisteningtonature.com/

13.01.2022 Our beautiful crystal collection is sourced from reputable businesses and individuals. . Recently we had a young lady sell us her collection of gems she had inherited from her grandfather in Melbourne. She was from overseas and could not take them all home. You can tell his collection was put together over many years of love and passion for crystals. Mostly raw pieces and some we had never had before the opportunity to buy. That’s what I love about a Planet Corroboree....we are so open to receiving new and special things always. We welcome people coming in and dealing directly with them. 09.01.2022 Giina! Who is ready to join me for a delightful foraging experience? This wonderful weather has lushed up weeds and wild natives beautifully, everything is burs...ting with energy and zest and it is simply a perfect time to trek about chatting to our plant-kin. As a local Gumbaynggirr woman, my foraging events are more than a study of plants! I also weave in wisdom inherited from my Elder's around connectivity to Country and share why ritual is an essential aspect of foraging. I provide ethical considerations regarding interaction with Country and discuss ways all humans can make a difference to our global wellbeing through developing healthy relating with our other-than-human kin. I take up to 10 folk /group so jump in now if you want to make my January event! If you would like to remain updated on events and resources check into my Kin Botanica page and follow me here, with gratitude, Amber See more

01.01.2022 Did you know the Indigenous Australian flag is the only copyrighted flag in the world? Currently, non-Indigenous business WAM Clothing holds an exclusive worldwide licensing agreement with the Flag's copyright owner, Harold Thomas, to reproduce the Flag on clothing. We believe that the flag should be freed so that Indigenous Australians and non-Indigenous Australians may enjoy the flag and celebrate Aboriginal culture more freely without restrictions. Unfortunately while this... exclusive copyright controls the flags worldwide production, the flag is in danger of disappearing from everyday life. So we believe strongly in keeping the flag and the values it represents alive which means wearing it with pride as much as we can. In order to promote the flag to be for pride and not profit you can sign the petition below: https://www.change.org/p/australia-change-the-licencing-agr and you can raise awareness by talking about this issue with your friends and family! Our friends at Cape Byron Steiner School agree and wear the First Nations Flag with respect, admiration and pride. @ Byron Bay, New South Wales
