Words by @mindtset MY CHOICE OF PUNISHMENT HAS NOW BECOME MY ESCAPE. How exercise can change your body and your mind. Often, as a female we use exercise as a bargaining tool to eat more food or to make the guilt of not being good enough, disappear, because we ‘work out’. Putting yourself through crazy workouts and physically starving the very thing that is going to get you through life seems like a crazy thing to do. Yet we do it in the hope to become a ‘better person’, valued higher or respected more? Over time, although my relationship with exercise was toxic, as I began to accept my body and the ability I had to look after it. The things i put it through, after all of the surgery i had a child, it was extraordinary how much it would tolerate, how much it would adapt. Thankfully, exercise became my way to get out of my head. Time to spend on my own, increasing my strength and endurance, creating a relationship where I want to care for myself and my body will do the same. I know you are probably at a point in your life where exercise is being used to make you feel valued, make you feel worthy and It is hard to imagine it as being something you do just because you feel good, but I promise with the shift in mindset, it can happen. You wont need to push yourself to crazy extremes, skip meals or try crazy fad diets. You just need to believe in yourself before anyone else. Be your own cheerleader. How do you do this? Change the image you have of yourself. Answer the following questions and share how you felt below! If it was just you, no one else in a room and you were there for an extended period of time, what kind of relationship would you like to have with yourself? What do you value in those around you? What traits of your own do you value most? What do others say you are good at (non physical)? Your body does not dictate your value in society. You have the power to shift your relat
