25.01.2022 Cool "don't litter" sing along.

23.01.2022 Working at the marine debris coalface ahead of a meeting at Minister for The Environment office tomorrow. It is helpful to actually touch "the issue", with your bare hands, which leads to despair and anger occasionally but also to determination that we must get a handle on this. Yes let's continue to all clean up as much as we can but at the same time we must urge the government, our councils and industry to do whatever they can to turn off the "plastic tap" at the other end.... Tomorrow we will ask Gabrielle Upton to do just that by urging the NSW Government to ban/phase out single use lightweight plastic bags as a first step towards reducing our destructive addiction to single use plastic items. Today's 1 hour / 4 hands "treasure" hunt produced dozens of plastic bags, 84 bottle caps, 46 bottles/cans, 54 straws, 10 tennis balls, hundreds of snack wrapper and loads of misc. items. The strong onshore wind kept delivering more treasure..... See more

23.01.2022 What would be a good headline here or should we just shed a tear?

21.01.2022 Every year in NSW thousands of marine animals are injured and killed by plastic pollution in our oceans. There is one way to fix it - a ban on single-use plasti...c bags. South Australia, Tasmania, Northern Territory and the ACT have already banned the bag. Now it's time for NSW to do the same! #banthebag #plasticfreejuly

21.01.2022 Would you like a plastic bag with that? NO THANKS!!

20.01.2022 Encouraging. What do you say Gladys? Shall we just get on with it and introduce a legislated ban?

08.01.2022 It has been 4 years since this passionate delegation delivered 13.000 signatures, in support of a legislated plastic bag ban in NSW, to the Parliament of NSW. Although the other States will have a legislated ban in place in time to come, NSW is missing in action. Our Premier has decided that she will leave it up to the supermarkets and other retailers to phase out single use plastic bags. Although we welcome the decision by the leading supermarkets to no longer supply free bags from the end of this month it is essential that NSW introduces legislation to safeguard a ban for the future. We will continue our actions until such time that NSW will join the other states and the ban will be nationwide.

07.01.2022 Must see documentary before you cast your vote.

03.01.2022 We want our NSW Minister for the Environment to step up to the podium and #banthe bag. Our supermarkets lead the way, now there is no other option but for our Government to ensure that we have effective legislation across the board. Next week the State Environment Ministers will be meeting in Melbourne. The plastic bag ban will be debated. It is not too late to contact your MP.
