21.01.2022 We have found an amazing solution to single-use plastic water bottles Today with Tourism Noosa, we officially launched our new water bottle strategy to local media, members and industry. In partnership with Blue Spring Water, we have delivered an Australian First with this NOOSA collection of single-use aluminium water bottles, that create a stunning representation of Noosa, both in and out of the fridge.... Feedback from our members (particularly in the tourism/ accommodation sector) has shown that this is a desired and highly attractive alternative to plastic bottles. These bottles are non toxic, contain less than 1ml of ink and are INFINITELY recyclable. The response from community has been overwhelming, with 22 businesses having already pre-ordered both the ‘Still’ and ‘Lightly Sparkling’ Noosa Bottled water for their restaurants, resorts and cafes. Day 1 and we’ve already eliminated 1,344 single-use plastic water bottles from the Noosa Shire : Panga Productions

10.01.2022 We love Plastic Free events!!! Over the long weekend, the Great Noosa Country Trail Walk successfully delivered an almost 100% plastic free event! Some amazing volunteers and community groups came together to showcase the beautiful landscapes and towns of our beautiful Noosa Country region to visitors and locals alike and the small amount of rubbish at the end of the 3 days, was mostly what participants collected and picked up from the trails during the walk. The 2020 walk saw more than 150 participants walk 56kms over 3 days (Saturday 3 -Monday 5 October) through the country towns of Cooroy, Kin Kin, Pomona and Cooran, via a series of stunning walking trails through farmlands, forests and spectacular mountain lookouts. Below are the steps the event took to be plastic free: - Requested participants to bring their own reusable water bottles. The event provided the NOOSA collection aluminium bottled water to all participants on day 1 if they needed a bottle (These bottles of water are not just good looking, but they are infinitely recyclable and also reusable) - Requested all participants to bring their own keep cups - All utensils not brought by participants were Biopak compostables - All venues were asked to be plastic free and for takeaway options Biopak products were used
