13.01.2022 The man, the myth, the legend, the professor himself - Mr Alexander Milton ladies and gentlemen!!! As you can see Alex loves a photo, so much that we forced him to take this one so we can take a second to celebrate this wonderful man. Alex is one of the kindest, most genuine people you'll ever have the pleasure to meet. He cares so much that he will consistently put himself out to take care of other people (we're trying to work on this, promise!) and never shies away from tak...ing on more to improve himself. He's recently finished a coaching course through @edgeperformance_ and has brought a wealth of knowledge back into the gym - not only that but he's implementing what he's learned for his clients in the studio, the team at @northernsaintsrugby and all of us here. Our entire community is better off with what Alex brings, and it's just absolutely mind blowing this young man is only 20. We're so proud of you @alexcmilton and cannot wait to see how you grow in the future and help all the people you encounter

11.01.2022 Part one of our weekly challenge this week - the mental component! Go get some space. Take 10 minutes out of your week, and just go and be present. On the back of Areyouokay this is so important, for the team here and for everyone we meet - we can get so swept up in expectations, busy, stress, demands and pressure that we overflow. It's not immediate but that build up does happen, and this is better to do before everything gets too much.... That being said, if you ever have a day that things seem overwhelming, give this a try: Find a space where you're away from everything and safe. It could be at a park, at home, walking down the street, wherever. When you're in your space, give yourself 10 minutes. Mentally allow yourself to take 10 minutes to be present, you can afford 10 minutes out of your day. It's nothing in the grand scheme of things. And then...BE. FEEL what's happening to your body - are you walking or still, hot or cold. Is there a breeze? Is there sun on your face? Really try and identify what's happening to your physical self. HEAR - really open yourself up. What can you hear, both near and at the very limits of your senses? Is there any persistent noise, are there any strange sounds? SEE. The hardest. Have you ever tried to stop and take in everything you can see? Imagine you're a scientist on a new world for the very first time. You have to take in everything you can see, remember as much as possible and report back to that. There are so many things happening in the world around us, and bringing ourselves into the present is so useful to gain some balance and perspective.

11.01.2022 Enjoy the journey and celebrate your wins along the way

10.01.2022 Part 2 of our weekly challenge - the shoe around the world balancing trick! . Watch @holdenaidan try (and fail), then go give this a try yourselves, and of course tag us in both your successful and unsuccessful attempts

05.01.2022 Video number 3 for our food mini-series: What NOT to focus on! So many people come in with really big hang-ups regarding what 'works' and typically we see a lot of 'this food is good this food is bad' which can create a REALLY unhealthy balance with your eating and mental health.... As far as the big picture is concerned it isn't the qualtiy of the food that helps you lose weight, it's the total amount of calories. We are by no means saying go eat fast food for every meal. You're probably not going to feel crash hot. What we're saying is please STOP obsessing over carbs, of denying yourself food and drink because it is 'bad'. This creates really negative association with food and leads to the binge mentality of 'well f*k it, I ate a slice of pizza, obviously pizza is bad, what is the point of all this, let's spiral.' Remove the blame behind food. Remove the shame. It's fuel for your body. Carbs, sugar, keto, timing, you name it and people obsess over it. Take a step back and look at the big picture.
