12.01.2022 Brisbane Playback Theatre Inc began in 1989 when Francis Batten initiated the Company. Since then many people have been part of the troupe, honouring peoples stories. Our members come from many disparate occupations and professions and are involved because of their love of this unusual, challenging, inspiring, inclusive form of theatre. Playback companies exist around the world and throughout Australia.

10.01.2022 On the upcoming 'Transforming Violence' performance : Dear Friends Given it is Domestic Violence Month, the Brisbane West Senior Citizens Centre was keen to raise awareness - but our starting point for planning this evening was how do you have an empowering conversation about Domestic Violence? So we have teamed up with its resident theatre group, Brisbane Playback Theatre Company to explore how we can bring our collective voice to a conversation about Domestic Violence. How ...do we respond to violence when it appears in our lives, and how do we transform as a result of our responses. Our vision is that by the end of the evening we will leave empowered with greater awareness from all who attend the evening, our speakers, the Playback Theatre actors and each other. Please join us in this conversation.
