21.01.2022 There are so many school readiness skills learnt through Playball. From Term 1 through to Term 4, skills such as listening are built upon, helping your child prepare for school. Perfect for your 2022 Preppie! But if you have a 2021 Preppie, Term 4 will boost their skills and confidence as they get closer to day 1 of school. Presentation Day and medals are a great way to end the year, and celebrate their progress

19.01.2022 Recent feedback from a trial lesson had us grinning from ear to ear We have trialled 2 other ball sport programs but this was much better! The other ones tend to use adult pop music which I found made the kids go crazy (way too much stimulation) and not actually practice any skills. They also have a lot of long instructions which was lost on Cooper. I really like David's whole approach with peeling it back to just a simple setup with using just his very effective skill set. He gives 1 simple instruction and let's them practice individually and gives them immediate feedback. I've never seen a more effective method! We are most grateful for the experience and would love to book a spot please.

18.01.2022 The Playball program promotes school readiness skills to ensure that children develop a sound base on which to build in the future. Our goal is the development of the whole child. It is for this reason that Playball develops physical, social, intellectual and emotional skills in an age appropriate manner. Some of the school readiness skills covered by the Playball program include: Emotional wellbeing Confidence... Cooperation and skills of inclusion A level of physical competence Concentration, Focus and Listening Skills Persistence while learning Teamwork and Social Skills. See more

17.01.2022 The supportive relationships of coaches and teammates, plus encouragement from parents, can all positively affect childrens self-esteem.

16.01.2022 Tried go ahead but to wet today. Sorry guys. C u next week. Dave

13.01.2022 BENEFITS OF SPORT FOR KIDS: MOTOR SKILLS DEVELOPMENT Sports participation helps with coordination and learning new skills.... SOCIAL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT Playing as a team means learning to work with others and support them. SELF CONFIDENCE Success in mastering a new skill builds confidence. SPORTSMANSHIP Learning the rules of the game, respect for coaches and others, and how to stay positive even when losing are all valuable life lessons.

13.01.2022 Jump into the weekend, Playballers!

13.01.2022 Presentation Day 2019

12.01.2022 We're back! We have so many new Playballers, it is going to be an exciting week

12.01.2022 My now 5 year old twins attended Playball at Indooroopilly for just over 12 months. To say they loved it was an understatement. Their confidence increased and they got to try lots of different ball sports in a safe place. As parents, we loved that the trophy each week was given more for team skills than for ball skills! Our twins loved that a trophy was given and it was a huge source of pride in our house when it came home with one of them. They regularly play Coach Tiff with a whistle and soccer ball!

12.01.2022 The learning behind the fun

12.01.2022 Light rain at the moment. Hopefully we can go ahead with basketball.

12.01.2022 While many people think of academics (e.g. writing their name, counting to 10, knowing the colors) as the important school readiness skills, school readiness actually refers to a much broader range of skills. Attention and concentration, physical skills (e.g. having the endurance to sit upright for an entire school day), emotional regulation, language skills and play and social skills are vital. Playball has been created to develop to these skills in a fun and engaging manner.

11.01.2022 Who's excited??!!

10.01.2022 Hi playballers, please come tomorrow at Chapel Hill SS . To wet today. Thanks

10.01.2022 My four boys loved Playball. It was the inclusive approach to teaching the fundamentals of sport that has now given them the confidence to participate in any sport. The Playball program can take credit for my kids having a passion for sport.

09.01.2022 Presentation Day Tuesday 9.15am Kindy Class

08.01.2022 One of the important skills learned through play

08.01.2022 Physical activity has been shown to stimulate chemicals in the brain that make you feel better. So playing sport regularly improves childrens overall emotional wellbeing. Research shows theres a link between playing sport and self-esteem in children. The support of the team, a kind word from a coach, or achieving their personal best will all help children to feel better about themselves.

06.01.2022 Playball teaches Sports skills as a fun way for children to learn Life skills and School Readiness skills. Playball is unique and specialised in that, although we are using sports skills as our vehicle, our goal is to help children develop all of the skills they need on their journey through life. Because it is more important for young children to learn confidence and how to play well with others, the early stages of our program are non-competitive and designed to provide a...ll children with the opportunity to participate at their own level. Playball coaches use a variety of sports equipment designed to be fun and keep children engaged. The Playball Program caters for children of every ability and interest as well as providing foundation skills for the athletes of the future. Through enjoyment children learn love sport providing a spring board into future sports participation.

06.01.2022 Preschoolers' fine and gross motor skill development is indicative of later performance on two key measures of kindergarten readiness, according to a study. Preschoolers who performed better on fine and gross motor skill assessments early in the school year were more likely to have better social behavior and "executive function," or ability to pay attention, follow directions and stay on task later in the school year, scientists said. source: sciencedaily.com
