22.01.2022 It is with a heavy heart that we're letting everyone know, that due to our inability to meet the requirements of a qualifying COVID safe plan, we have to cancel the public event of the Playford Community Christmas Pageant. We will be unable to gather the required manpower to facilitate a public event of this scale, in a manner that satisfies the requirements of SA Health. We are investigating all other avenues to still hold the event in a virtual presence or otherwise. We are... grateful to the supporters in the community, and regret to disappoint so many. We hope to come up with a plan for this year very soon, so that we can advise everyone as soon as practically possible. We are seeking volunteers to help facilitate the Pageant both this year and next. There are many ways in which you can help. Whether it’s helping us raise money by selling raffle tickets, volunteering as a marshal on Pageant day or even just helping us in the smaller ways by offering services. We are the only Pageant in SA 100% run and funded by Volunteers and it’s the support of the community that keeps us going. Our $1,000 1st prize raffle is still going ahead as we hope to raise money to cover the costs we are forced to outlay for the planning of this year as well as better prepare for next year. Please purchase a $2 ticket to go into the draw to win $1,000 just in time for Christmas. Only 4,000 tickets available, so grab yours when they go on sale soon.
18.01.2022 All prizes presented on the day. Come on down and grab one of our 4,000 tickets in our 2020 community raffle.
18.01.2022 Over the Christmas and New Year period, there can be a lot of food that doesn’t get eaten. It’s important that it isn’t wasted. If you don’t already have somewh...ere to compost your food scraps, you can place them into your green-lid Food and Garden Organics (FOGO) bin along with your garden clippings. You can place all types of food scraps into the FOGO bin, for example bread, meat, bones, cheese, as well as all vegetables and scraps from the chopping board. NAWMA will collect the contents of the FOGO bin and our partner Peats Soils will use their industrial scale composting facility to turn your food scraps into compost. https://www.nawma.sa.gov.au/resource-rec/garden-food-waste/

15.01.2022 Ladies and Gentlemen, WE ARE MOVING AHEAD with our Pageant Event And WILL DEPEND ON...... OUR awaited Approval of our Covid -19 Management Plan ... Due to COVID 19, we've obviously had to change a few things. We are moving the Pageant to X Convenience Oval thanks to Central Districts Football Club to limit numbers of people at the event. We're also planning a number of things in light of the venue and the possibilities it presents us. This will be a Pageant like none we've held before. We're continuing our tradition of the last Saturday in November (28th) and we will be making further announcements as things progress. The event is still free to attend. The event will be ticketed, limited to 3000 attendees at this stage. We will provide an online booking service through Eventbrite soon. We're look forward to putting this event on seeing you there. From us with christmas spirit The Playford Community Christmas Pageant Committee

04.01.2022 It is with great sadness and a heavy heart we say goodbye to one of our longest standing members, Margaret Hayward, today. She has been with us since the beginning and we shall miss her expertise. We offer our support and best wishes to her family, especially her son Darren who is our current Chief Marshal, at this sad time
