24.01.2022 What a great resource!

22.01.2022 After a big weekend of moving we are ecstatic to welcome Charmaine into her new space and can't wait to see how she customises it. If you got to design your own therapy space what would be your top 3 must haves?

21.01.2022 Flash back to this day of the past 3 years. Each year I have rocked a bold and unique lip colour everyday of September as part of @liptember This year is the first time my lips and I are taking a break since we started. I'm missing the fun reactions of the families each day and sad not to be personally fund raising for women's health this time around. Don't miss out like me, you can still support another amazing participant and support mental health research and services for Australian women.

18.01.2022 When you board a plane (a distant memory for many) the routine safety messages always begin your flight. Now if you are well regulated and paying attention you will receive the message to fix your own oxygen mask before attempting to help others. This is because we all know you are useless in the effort to help others if you also lose consciousness. Why then don't we have this message drilled into us in relation to our mental health, where it holds just as true. With brains ...uniquely wired to mirror the experiences of others, what we bring into a situation has a strong impact on what we are likely to take away. If we are stressed, tired, anxious, or angry then unless we work to take care of that within ourselves it will show up in each of our relationships. By prioritising yourself you are not being selfish you are taking the time to make sure that you are providing a safe experience for others to mirror. Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is take care of ourselves first so that we can be the safe place for our child, partner or friend to regulate. See more

18.01.2022 If only teaching life skills was this straightforward and delicious!

15.01.2022 R U OK? Is just the beginning. Following this openner with connection and empathy is where the real change exists. You don't need to have the perfect words, it's even ok to say 'I don't know what to say, but I'm here." 15.01.2022 Feel Good Friday! Most of us have that story of a person whose small act of kindness sticks with us. It's a reminder of the good in the world and we may even hope that we are in the memory of another being part of their reason to believe that the world is still good. Not all of though get a chance to share with that person just how meaningful their interaction was to us, so here is your space I would love to know which act of kindness you carry in your heart as a reminder of ...the good in people? My personal memory is from high school when a girl in my class who I wasn't particularly close with went out of her way to check in on me when I felt like my friends didn't notice or care, and I have been lucky enough to get to thank her for this kindness. So if you know the person who is part of your memory tag them below and if not, if your comment is about a stranger maybe by sharing your story you can help remind others of the power of connection on this beautiful day.

13.01.2022 Feel Good Friday! Parents having these conversations with their kids fills my heart. We want children to have these amazing age appropriate social opportunities but we also want to make sure these feel safe and fun for all. Giving our kids the tools to manage a social situation they feel uncomfortable in is essential.

13.01.2022 As the weeks fly by towards the end of the year, here is your reminder to stop and notice the small moments that string together to make each day

11.01.2022 Here are your conversation starters for this week How do you allow your children to raise their concerns about you or your parenting style?

11.01.2022 Feel Good Friday Chuck Feeney one of the founders of duty free shopping has chosen to distribute his wealth while alive to see its impacts. He has given away over $8 million dollars to a range of worthy causes, equalling 375,000% more money than his current net worth. When interviewed by Forbes Feeney summarized his mission in a few sentences. I see little reason to delay giving when so much good can be achieved through supporting worthwhile causes. Besides, it’s a lot more... fun to give while you live than give while you’re dead. While we may not each have millions to give I challenge you to give something to someone today. Your time, paying for their coffee order, a listening ear, help to fix something. You never know what the values of what you have to give means in the eyes of those who need it. #compassionchallenge #generosity #chuckfeeney

07.01.2022 Practice what you preach Creating my own resiliency tree.

05.01.2022 What a great first for Mackay!

05.01.2022 It's okay to feel angry. Emotions are simply guides, doing their best to steer themselves towards more of what we want and less of what we don't want. Sometimes interpreting their messages can get hard so having a safe space such as therapy can be a game changer for that, for people of all ages.

04.01.2022 It's child protection week and this is a conversation we need to be having year round.1.4 million Australian adults experienced childhood sexualising abuse. We have the power to have meaningful conversations that may protect our children and increase your confidence if disclosures were ever to be made. Would you like a free live stream introduction to exploring protective behaviours with young children?

02.01.2022 For those who may not be aware today social media has been hit by the wave of a suicide which was love streamed and then shared across multiple platforms including Tik Tok and instagram. This video has also been shared under videos that start with other unrelated content meaning that a number of children, young people and adults have been exposed to this content. Please monitor what your children are consuming online and ensure you have open communication to know if they come across content such as this and assist them in making sense of it in healthy ways.
