18.01.2022 We’re washing hands, sanitising, wiping down, social distancing and producing some great sunrise and sunset artworks in our Art classes. It might be as close as you will get to seeing a sunrise/sunset in paradise these holidays and foreseeable future. With club sports cancelled and holidays postponed, why not give our art classes a go. Term 2 enrolments will be opening soon with new days and timeslots being opened up. Please help out a local business during these crazy times while helping your child discover their inner picasso. PM for more details for genuine expressions of interest.

15.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who has tagged, shared, enquired or commented. I have decided to donate these murals to HUNTER RIVER COMMUNITY SCHOOL which is a Special Needs school in Metford. Im so happy they are going to such a worthy new home as im sure the kids over there will get so much joy from them.

14.01.2022 We were lucky enough to get a couple of lessons in at the beginning of the week (see chalk pastel fishies below ) but with the current climate and the recommendations surrounding social distancing, we have been forced to CANCEL ALL REMAINING ART CLASSES STARTING IMMEDIATELY AND UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. #anotherOneBitesTheDust I’ll continue to post some art-based material on this page, but unfortunately since im no longer doing murals and playgrounds due to injury, and now no art... from the classes, there will be no more work posted from Art by LJ as such. 13.01.2022 Term one is going well. Our Sugar Skull artworks are turning out great. Weve been learning about what different mediums can and cant do, how to add detail to get greater effects, how to protect the drawings and the page from smudging and the importance of patience to create a great finished product. Mid term enrolment is still available, with vacancies in several timeslots . Please PM for more info.

13.01.2022 Mexican artist Enrique Bernal uses an APP called Medibang Paint To Make His Black & White Drawings Glow. How good do they look!

12.01.2022 The kids are pretty happy with their clay coil pots they have made over the last couple of weeks, and rightly so! In these classes we were looking at the properties of AIR DRY CLAY, - which is- clay that dries and hardens when exposed to air, compared to the regular clay that has to be "baked" in a kiln. We learnt how to knead, roll, cut and join clay and how to shape and strengthen the pot, and also how to keep the clay and unfinished artwork from drying out.

11.01.2022 A blast from the past today when an old uni friend sent me a photo of this even older business card she found. Im sure its the only one left in existence. It is from circa 1989-93 (pre-internet/photoshop) when i set up a screen printing and chalkboard business from mums house to get myself through uni. 09.01.2022 Its been ages since my daughter did any art as it had taken a backseat to piano for so long. But isolation (and boredom) has been a great inspiration for her to get back into it- with surprising results!
