23.01.2022 With PANDA Week here, we thought it was timely to reflect on the positive effects and unique benefits that playgroup has been able to provide families in Western Australia for over 20 years. While playgroup is primarily a place of fun and play, it's more than this. In its essence, playgroup is about connection, friendship, sharing the ups and downs of parenthood and in many instances, the creation of life-long bonds.

05.01.2022 Do your kids like to engage in play fighting? This type of play is beneficial and necessary for the development and maintenance of social awareness, understandi...ng the body language and emotions of others, as well as regulating behaviour. For bigger kids, rough and tumble play satisfies the drive for action and adventure in children. It allows risk taking within safe boundaries. Rough and tumble play allows both girls and boys to test and practice physical and social skills, take risks within safe boundaries and learn about their bodies. Children who have engaged regularly in this type of play learn to distinguish between innocent play and aggression. This helps with their social, problem solving and protective behaviour skills. For more visit: https://playgroupwa.com.au/ideas/rough-tumble-play-child/ To view the different ages scroll to the bottom and click through.

02.01.2022 LEARNING THROUGH PLAY Fine motor skills involve the use of the small muscles that control the hand, fingers and thumb. And they're important part of child de...velopment during the early years. Our little ones use these skills to do lots of important things like hold small items, grasp toys, feed themselves, button and zip clothes, writing and drawing. We can help our kids to develop these skills by giving them lots of opportunities to play and explore. To see the full list click through here https://playgroupwa.com.au/finemotorskills
