20.01.2022 We would like to introduce the newest member of our Playmates family - Bluey! This week, the children worked with Mariana to create a hydroponic fish tank whic...h will be used to grow lettuce. The plant will take nutrients from the water and then return oxygen to the water for Bluey to breathe. The children have been very busy with Mariana over the past few months to improve on sustainable practices at Playmates. Our garden has become extremely impressive and the children have even been able to enjoy their harvest of cherry tomatoes and strawberries. Our worm farm is going so well that we were able to nourish our vegetable garden with some worm juice this week as well. 14.01.2022 The children in our Crocodile room have been very interested in the human body and how it works over the past few weeks. This had lead to many discussions around healthy food choices and fuelling our bodies with healthy options. This interest has progressed to the children undertaking the Coles Rainbow Challenge. Each child has their own card as pictured below and are ticking off the colours they are eating from their lunch boxes each day. They are learning that packaged sna...cks do not count towards their chart and are getting very confident at matching their fresh food to those seen in their fruit and veg rainbow. The children are showing great pride in their efforts for the challenge and look forward to marking their chart every lunch time. We encourage our families to ask their children what they would like to pack in their lunch boxes and assist them in making healthy choices. Remember you can always ask our educators for ideas

03.01.2022 We wish to extend our deepest gratitude to the families of Playmates Cottage. The Educators and Children are more than pleased to announce that after an overwhelming response to our call for donations, we were able to send a total of SIX care packages to our Aussie troops overseas.

02.01.2022 The children in the Crocodiles room were extremely fortunate to have a special visit from Alison of Butterfly Effect Kids Yoga yesterday. Alison took the children on a physical journey as they moved their bodies in a fun way and then spent a little time coming back to themselves in a peaceful moment of mindfulness. Thank you so much Alison. We look forward to having you at Playmates a lot more in the near future. Even the Kangaroos will be meeting you soon
