19.01.2022 Year 8&10 Double Header Butler College played host to Rockingham Senior High School today in both our Year 8 and Year 10 Competition. Both games were fantastic fixtures, that displayed some outstanding Rugby League to the crowd of students from Butler that enjoyed watching during their break time!... In the Year 8 game, Butler enjoyed some great field position early on, but couldnt capitalise. Rockingham got stronger as the game progressed, and ended up running out 32-10 winners. The Year 10 game had it all. Big defence, slick attack, pace, power and passion! Coming off a defeat in their last fixtures, both teams were out to get their first win of the Competition. The game seesawed from one team to the other, with a late Try from Butler sealing a 28-22 victory. Butler College will now turn their attention to Thornlie SHS, with Rockingham looking forward to meeting Atwell College later this term. #PlayRugbyLeague

From then on it was a fantastic 2-hour display of Rugby League with the students working on their conversions, play-making & game sense in 90% humidity. A huge thank you to Mr Sambell at Christmas Island District High School for helping organise the sessions throughout the week. ... It has been very rewarding to see our game played in one of the most unique parts of our country. 15.01.2022 Today we hosted the Year 9/10 Southern Carnival at Lark Hill Sporting Complex, Port Kennedy. The great weather & high level of play throughout the day made for a fantastic showcase of our game. Year 9 Grand Final: Atwell College faced off against Rockingham SHS. After losing to Atwell 24-4 in the round-robin matches, Rockingham were keen to get payback. They drew first blood, putting pressure on the undefeated Atwell team. Atwell bounced back right before half-time with the... score being 6-6 at the break. Unwavering defence from both sides saw the score unchanged for the majority of the 2nd half. Rockingham looked to have secured the upset after scoring a spectacular try on the far sideline to give them a 10-6 lead with just a few minutes left, but it was Atwell that managed to score a breakaway try in the last minute to cap off a fantastic undefeated day for their team. Final score 12-10. Year 10 Grand Final: Thornlie fought their way to a match-up with Rockingham after beating the undefeated Atwell team in their last round-robin match. The first half was filled with strong offence, with both teams scoring two tries apiece with the score being 10-10 at half-time. Rockingham flexed their muscle and managed to regain the lead with an early 2nd half try. Just as Thornlie looked to respond in the dying minutes, a very clever kick-gather courtesy of Rockingham's Stacie Reweti eventuated into a full length of the field try which handed Rockingham the victory. Final score 22-10. Thank you to Lakeland Senior High School, John Tonkin College, Thornlie Senior High School, Atwell College & Rockingham Senior High School for participating and thank you to Rockingham Sharks Rugby League for playing host.

09.01.2022 Year 8 & 10 Double Header Butler College played host to Thornlie SHS - today in the Year 8 & Year 10 High Schools Competition. Butler showed plenty of class in the Year 8 fixture, storming out to a big half time lead. The power running of their forwards, and the silky skills of their back made it a tough game for Thornlie. To their credit, Thornlie tried hard all game, and scored two quick tries after half time to halt the momentum Butler had created.... Final Score - Butler 52 - 12 Thornlie In the Year 10 Fixture, it was a much tighter contest. The game went backwards and forwards, with the ascendancy swinging from team to team. With 10 minutes to go, and the score at 20 - 16 in Thornlies favour, it was anyones game! Thornlie then went up a gear, and scored three classy tries, to run out deserving winners! Final Score - Butler 16 - 36 Thornlie
