20.02.2022 Play Path is running Cube Club - a social club for ages 8+ that takes all things blocky and transforms game-based learning into real-world skills. For instance, Minecraft is an ideal game for practicing core executive functioning skills, merely playing the game is generally not enough to help them transfer skills they use in the game to the demands of home, school, and social relationships. Players often need help in detecting the skills they are using, reflecting on the ways... these skills help them in the game and in their real-world and connecting these skills to real-world activities. - Gain New Confince - Try New Things - Develop New Friendships - Talk and Share New Ideas - Work In A Team Get to the next level at Play Path! 31.01.2022 Puzzle Room Escape! The search for a cure has driven mankind down an uncontrollable path of illegal experimentation.... Day in, day out, you see others of your own kind come and go within Dr. Irov's laboratory, with test subjects being randomly selected daily and taken into a mysterious room to never again return.... As test subjects, you know that you have been kept alive for the sole purpose of experimentation. You have lost hope and beginning to accept the fact that you will be trapped here for eternity. However, after coincidentally discovering that one of your fellow test subjects have managed to escape the laboratory reignites your desire for freedom, and you know that you must follow in their footsteps to make your one-way breakout. 25.01.2022 In the lead up to the Play Path - Social Skill Innovator program starting Term 3, we are running creative thinking workshops that challenge participants on the Autism Spectrum to transform from consumer to creator. Our clinical psychologist and technology mentors start them on a journey to explore awareness, curiosity, imagination, fluency, flexibility, elaboration and perseverance. Venture out into the cosmos and learn how to defend threats to planet Earth! Its time to realise your ambition and follow in the footsteps of the great space travel pioneers. Billions of lives are at stake. Complete missions using animation, electronics, virtual reality, and team games. Lift-off commences Wednesday 25th Sept. and 2nd Oct. from 12 pm - ...3 pm. Dive deep down to the bottom of the ocean and discover what dwells beyond the twilight zone. Ancient ruins hold secrets to our past and the unique species of sea-life present mysteries to solve. But beware, dangers lurk in the depths. Complete missions using animation, 3D modelling, virtual reality, and team games. Descend into the heart of the ocean on Friday 27th Sept. and 4th Oct. from 12 pm - 3 pm. 17.01.2022 Are you or someone you know an adult (18+) on the Autism spectrum? You are invited to join a group of adults in social activities on Thursday mornings. We bring together people with like-minded interests to share their skills or thoughts and create a community. Together we focus on creating meaningful moments while offering a sense of belonging, connection, support and open communication, establish friendships and learn new skills while engaging with their interest. There is ...plenty of fun activities and games to join in. There are games on Nintendo Switch, Virtual Reality and Boards. A variety of monthly outings are scheduled with accommodating our participants' support areas. We have a variety of games and activities to pick from and you are welcome to bring your own. 17.01.2022 Cogs - Game Design Our classes focus on building basic tech skills through hands-on experience. We dont just show how its done. Each child will have a device to interact with and copy our instructions. After each lesson, we task them to discuss and work together on a design problem. Beginning with their own virtual space, they can build their ideas in an open world. That way they can invite anyone to visit virtually and give feedback on their ideas. This creates a safe soci...al space for participants to collaborate and communicate in a structured manner to one another. Our mentors are trained to support those on the spectrum and actively present opportunities for participants to overcome social barriers, form lasting friendships and increase self-esteem. We want to impart the following skills: - Present ideas clearly and effectively. - Share and deliver constructive criticism. - Work together to solve problems. - Listening to and proactively act on feedback. - Set personal boundaries in areas such as physical contact, respect, honesty. - Experience simple command mechanics through activities. - A solid grasp on conditional logic: if/then statements, etc. - Graphical design of characters, sprites, and other objects. This may seem like a lot for pre-teens but we use industry-leading, proven software and methods to teach the children and can adjust specific goals to the progression of each participant in collaboration with a clinical psychologist. Supanova Comic Con & Gaming is a celebration of fandom, where the worlds of film and television, fantasy, comic books, anime, sci-fi, cartoons, books, gaming and collectables comes to life! Theres something for everyone, including cosplay (costume-role play), fan clubs, musical performances, creative master classes, celebrity Q&As, wrestling, tournaments, competitions and an expo full of shopping possibilities. Boardgames on Thursday 7th November Join us on the 7th of November at 10 am at Spectrum Services to show you are coming to Supernova on Saturday. Learn how to use encryption, access control, firewalls, Windows and Linux security tools to defend against phishing, malware, spyware and other intrusion attacks in a live competition. Think that's too easy? Then lead your team through the preliminary rounds to then take on the nation and win the grand prize. Play Path sessions create a safe social space for par...ticipants to collaborate and communicate in a structured manner to one another. Our mentors are trained to support those on the spectrum and actively present opportunities for participants to overcome social barriers, form lasting friendships and increase self-esteem. We want to impart the following skills: - Present ideas clearly and effectively. - Share and deliver constructive criticism. - Work together to solve problems. - Listening to and proactively act on feedback. - Set personal boundaries in areas such as physical contact, respect, honesty.
