25.01.2022 Play Dough and Bug Exploration Today we made bug imprints in play dough and added to our creations by using various other natural materials The children explored with their hands and used their sensory skills to make our play dough bugs come to life!... As the Spring weather starts to warm us up (25 degrees next week sounds good, doesn’t it?! ), we’ll be seeing more bugs in our garden so we can continue to explore this fun, hands-on subject!

25.01.2022 TEAM BUILDING Last weekend the PKHH Team celebrated the end of the year a little early with a special staff pre-Christmas getaway It was an amazing opportunity to continue to build our already strong team as we enjoyed a weekend adventure together staying in Vernon Beach, Marybrooke.... We explored the Ngilgi Caves learning about Aboriginal culture in our Southern Region, and enjoyed some lovely walks along our stunning coastline What a beautiful way to celebrate another big year at PKHH - bring on 2021!

23.01.2022 Eggs, anyone? Our chickens have been busy laying eggs over the past couple of weekends this month. The children just adore our Bock Bocks as they call them, putting their boots on to collect eggs each day to give away to our families. ... Today we counted 11 eggs! We have 2 cartons available if anyone would like to take some home courtesy of our loving Bock Bocks and PKHH children

23.01.2022 Investigating Moths in the Playground Last week some of the children noticed a beautiful Moth in our playground near the sliding door Further inquiry occurred when Christy held the moth with the children and we learned about how ticklish we all where when it walked around on our hands ... We also spoke about the colours that we could see. Orange pinky purples all shades of brown and black Some of the children were a little hesitant to hold the moth, however after seeing Christy hold it with confidence and care and then discuss with the children that this moth was not harmful, most of the children got to experience holding and caring for this extraordinary creature themselves Spring is bringing all the animals out! Last week we had a visit from a bob tail lizard and 2 ducks who came from across the road at Winjans Camp.

21.01.2022 Slip Slop Slap As the weather gets a little warmer here at PKHH, we are reminding all our families and children the importance of wearing Sunscreen Hats and T-shirts with sleeves each and every day they attend. As Spring sets in and with Summer fast approaching, we have set up a table at the front of our entry to the Centre for families to help children apply sunscreen themselves before entering for the day ... By the table you can find a step by step, self-help poster for the children to follow as they learn to apply the cream for themselves Together, we can be SunSmart and help encourage healthy lifelong skincare habits

19.01.2022 Creating Engaging Physical Environments We are so fortunate as a Centre to have access to a large storage facility that allows the team to frequently adapt and change their care environments to best suit the children’s interest It provides spontaneity and flexibility within our otherwise planned weekly curriculum where we to continually teach, mentor and guide the children’s development

We are so very proud of our Kindy Children this year and how far they have developed and grown with support from our amazing Kindy Team ...
