25.01.2022 Happy Early Childhood Educators Day to our wonderful educators at Play's Kool Floreat OSHC! We are so proud to have such a great team of caring, thoughtful, energetic, creative, helpful, kind and welcoming educators. Your hard work and dedication to high quality care and education is ALWAYS so appreciated.

25.01.2022 At OSHC the older children enjoy taking charge of activities and encouraging the younger children to participate. Today they set up the tables, encouraged the children to get involved and once the activity had finished they cleaned up and packed away everything.

22.01.2022 - Busy Bee’s - It was nice hot day on Friday so we conducted a bus washing experience! The children got very excited when the educators suggested it and worked fantastically as a team. A wonderful way to cool down on such a hot day!

21.01.2022 Make sure you head down to Bunnings Warehouse on Saturday 25th August to help us raise funds for Telethon7 Perth!

19.01.2022 Yesterday we visited the Constable Care Safety School to learn about road and public transport safety! The children did an augmented reality activity using tablets, walking around the school answering scenario based questions. They then cycled around roundabouts, pedestrian crossings and railway crossings. They learnt about the different road signs and what they meant and what they had to do. It was a great learning experience and one that the children really enjoyed!

17.01.2022 | Cut them up, don’t cut them out! | Our Centre Manager Aoife went to a local strawberry farm on the weekend and picked some fresh strawberries for us to make Strawberry Harvest Cakes in support of our WA farmers. The older children washed and cut up the strawberries, while the younger children cracked the eggs and measured out the remaining ingredients for our yummy cake. We were very happy with our finished product!

16.01.2022 | Baking Buddies | This morning some of our children assisted making today’s afternoon tea - pear cake! They shared the tasks required to make the cake and were very proud to be responsible for the yummy smell that met their friends at the door as they arrived!

13.01.2022 At OSHC we have been asking for volunteers to help out in the afternoons with certain jobs. We pick a different child each day to call the roll when we arrive back from the bus runs, someone to turn the lights on and someone to wheel and water Bernie (our plant) outside for the afternoon. We also have had children who volunteer to take the rubbish out every day and replace the bin bag without been asked. We are encouraging the children to get involved and creating basic life skills and independence.

12.01.2022 Did you know that we have an art teacher come in and run an hour’s art class every second Thursday afternoon?! Yesterday we made a Georgia O’Keefe Flower Collage. Georgia O'Keeffe was an American artist, best known for her paintings of enlarged flowers, New York skyscrapers, and New Mexico landscapes. Georgia O'Keeffe has been recognized as the "Mother of American modernism". Here the children carefully chose different coloured tissue paper, cut out petals and designed beautiful flowers!

07.01.2022 It’s Western Australia (WA) Day on Monday 4th June so we’re closed for the Public Holiday. If your child’s usually booked in on a Monday, all you have to do is fill out a Public Holiday Form and we’ll happily replace their day! Enjoy the long weekend!

06.01.2022 Chalk drawings yesterday afternoon while we had some sun (finally). A great way to wind down with friends after a day of school!
