19.01.2022 Kids are never naughty or bad; always emphasise through words and actions they are good, lovable and worthy- even when sometimes their behaviour may not be!

19.01.2022 Nervous System Dysregulation occurs in the body not only when we are sad, angry or frustrated but also when we are excited and overwhelmed with happiness or anticipation!

15.01.2022 Anyone frustrated with trying to find out how your child went at camp, school orientation day or an outing? Usually the first thing we say to our kids is how was your day? Response; good; cue carer prompting child for more info! Cue child becoming frustrated with the questions! Instead try asking your child to rate their day out of 10; 10 being awesome. You’ll get a much better idea of how their day was; and open up a discussion about what could have made it a 10 or why it was a 0. For little kids you can get them to show you with their arms; was it this good (arms out stretched like Snoopy) or only this good (hands close together). Scaling questions are also great for building emotional intelligence.

08.01.2022 I’ve found myself talking about this all week.....don’t underestimate the internal changes that are happening inside our clients! We may not see these changes externalised for a little while but hey ho they are happening!
