23.01.2022 'We recognised that in order for this to be a true plenary council, it couldn’t solely take place within geographical regions ... there was a sense that we couldn’t just postpone the Council for another 12 months and hope for the best.' An important announcement about the First Assembly of the Plenary Council: Assembly 1 is going multi-modal! ... 20.01.2022 2020 has been a difficult year for most, but we remain strong, united and hopeful as we say farewell to one Liturgical Year and welcome to the next. We invite you all to pray with us over the Christmas season. Access new Prayer Resources on the Plenary Council website -- Advent Wreath Prayers and Prayers of the Faithful. https://plenarycouncil.catholic.org.au/resources/prayer/
15.01.2022 The pandemic has not allowed in-person formation sessions and document discussions. It has been challenging, but everyone's prayerful and sincere dedication to this process, from all across the country and different walks of life, has been awe-inspiring! Below are a few more excerpts from the Discernment Papers. These papers contain summaries of the responses to Discernment, and an outpouring of knowledge, references and experience on the part of the Writing & Discernment Groups in interpreting the themes, talking about the present of the Church, and making concrete recommendations going towards the future. These papers are integral to forming the agenda of the Plenary Council Assembly 1, Find the papers (and audio versions courtest of the Diocese of Bathurst) here: https://plenarycouncil.catholic.org.au/continuing-the-jour/
11.01.2022 From the Plenary Council: A lot has changed in the past year. And the Plenary Council is no exception -- we have new commissioned delegates, new dates, a new (multimodal!) location for Assembly 1, and even a sort-of new logo. However, the mission -- to listen to what the Holy Spirit is saying and to collaborate as a Church in Australia towards a more missionary, prayerful, inclusive, healing, joyful and renewed Church -- remains the same. ... On this Australia Day, we are happy to restart the countdown to the multimodal Assembly 1, and we thank you all for your continued prayers and support.
06.01.2022 Congratulations to our delegates from Parramatta!
