21.01.2022 After a big weekend, Parma Mondays is a perfect solution for your Monday Melbourne Cup Eve dining. The Tarra Parma will be making its menu debut, Chicken Schnitzel, with Napoli Sauce, Ham from a Slow Cooked Ham Hock and Cheese. Our Chef, Michael also whispered he is unleashing a Porterhouse Parma, though he hasn't told me what it is yet! 5 x $15 Parma's... 5 x $25 Parma's 1 x $30 Parma A bit of something for everyone! 13.01.2022 Times are certainly a changing and there is plenty of change happening at The Plough! New beer system is in, delivering our beer colder than ever before along with a few additional lines. Works on refurbishing the outside of the building have commenced and The Plough is already starting to look like its back in its prime! Numbers have increased both inside and outside so there is plenty of room to catch up with friends or family in either our beautiful beer garden or fantasti...c Bistro room. Live music as always, with this weekend featuring our favourite boys Monkey & The Sloth 4pm to 7pm on Saturday and Sunday 3pm to 5pm local singer songwriter Chloe Jade Getting busier has meant a few tweaks along the way, sadly we have had to drop our takeaway pizza menu as our oven capacity wasn't keeping up. Morning changes are coming too, toasties are going, with some cakes and sweets coming in, except for Sunday's! We will release both a new inhouse dining menu and a weekend takeaway menu tomorrow.

This week sees the introduction of the Boatman's Parma (a parma with bacon and then drowned in a boatload of delicious house made gravy) and the Parma Platter ( 5 mini parmas on one plate - House, Tarra, Summer, Hellfire & Boatmans). 07.01.2022 Living in a Historic Pub with links back to the days of Bushrangers and Cobb & Co coaches means people always ask have you seen any ghosts. The answer is always, no, but . A building built in 1864 is always going to have its oddities as time has caused things to settle and move, perhaps more than they were originally intended, but the sounds of people moving about late at night in an otherwise empty pub is a constant, along with doors locking and unlocking themselves.... Then there was that night I visited the vast and empty cellar, a cellar that was used to store goods, meat and the odd coffin on route to somewhere while its drivers changed horses in the stables so many years ago. That balmy night I noticed the light on in the cellar, strange as I hadn’t been down there for a few days? So I wandered down, looked around and with nothing amiss flicked off the light switch which is in the middle of the cellar. Instantly as I was enveloped in sudden darkness a gust of icy wind hit me and I heard footsteps behind me, I turned and could see nothing, I was shivering with cold by this time and turned for the door, only for the footsteps to restart, getting closer and closer as I made my way carefully to the stairs, the coldness was increasing and I could feel it pushing me to the foot of the stairs up and up into the night. I stood at the entrance to the cellar, shivering with cold, then realizing the night air was warm and without even a whisper of a breeze. I looked back down those stairs into an blackness that seemed to devour any light and vowed that my next visits to the cellar would definitely be in daylight hours! Happy Halloween everyone.
