12.01.2022 Not that it’s anyone’s fault because 2020 was its own unique, roiling melting pot of previously never considered things to deal with and new concepts to reconcile within ourselves *cough homeschooling*, but is it just me or did eco-worries take a bit of a backseat in 2020? I don’t mean to put more 2021 pressure on us because what might happen today and where and what might it mean for our movements tomorrow? We are, frankly warriors, dealing with quite enough already. But the...re is a way to do your bit for the environment, sate your desire to see Team Plover AND eat and drink Plover foodstuffs merrily. You grab your reusable containers from home and you meet @rovingrefillsfrankston outside Plover between 10 and 2 tomorrow. Refill all your household and personal cleaning liquids. Recalibrate away from pandemic thinking and back to eco warrior status as quickly as you can watch body wash swirl lazily into a refillable, reusable, feel good about yourself and your choices container. It’s right up there with all laundry properly put away for personal satisfaction. Even better when paired with a @littlerebelcoffee and Plover wrap. We know this from personal trial so you can skip straight to the footpath feel good times. See you there.

03.01.2022 Who hasn’t yearned for this moment? The chai is brewed. Delivered. Fragrant. And ready to pour. Thing is, this moment took place in 2020. We’re tricky like that. For a 2021 reenactment, please hold your fire. Take a brief walk. If feeling especially bold, conjure up a resolution or two. Although a caveat to that activity: how did those 2020 resolutions pan out? Point is, this delightful scene - @melbourne.escapades as captured by @beck.v.carlson - cannot be repeated today as ...Plover is closed for New Years Day. It’s just one day. We’ll be back tomorrow, chai and all. Promise. In the meantime, from all in the Ploverhood: have a fabulous relaxed day and provided there is no border crossing in your immediate plans there’s every chance you will.

02.01.2022 Just in case you’ve forgotten who we are and what we look like, here we are. From L-R: @janepincottnaturopath - who is attempting to slide out of frame because she is currently on break and despite making it quite clear before she left which foods you should be eating and which drinks *cough wine* you should be avoiding, she knows you’re tucking into all of them and who can blame you so just enjoy and she’ll get you back on track come mid-January. Or February. It’s been a lo...ng year and it’s only fair that the celebratory behaviour is similarly drawn out. Just everyone stay well away from Sydney and no one gets hurt, OK? The middle child is Helen of the cafe running like clockwork. Which has been essential this week because whilst most of you are holidaying elsewhere, never fear, you have been temporarily replaced by other human customers most of whom we do not recognise but who also have a daily hankering for the wraps juices muffins salads you adore. We can barely keep up with ourselves but Helen makes it possible. And on the far right, say hello to Mel. Mel’s job is holding everything together in a Who Messed Up My Freshly Organised Front Desk fashion. Without her, Plover would be chaos. Mel will set you straight. She will fix your Pilates booking, steer you towards the right supplement sunscreen accessory, and along the way remind you that you look GREAT in terracotta. Just don’t mess up her desk. Hope your holidays are smashing. Miss us? Come see us....we’re here every day except New Years Day

01.01.2022 Hello friends. And before we start, let me just say 10am. 10am is the time that we will be opening today because today is a day. We’re not sure which day and does it even matter? All of the other days, we will continue with our usual trajectory of opening at 8am. Except for New Years Day. That day we will stay closed because surely you’ll all just be lounging around at home wishing you’d gone to bed at 8pm anyway.... Today, on this day of What Day Is It Anyway, we send greetings to all of the regular Plover flock who are away or cocooning in their corner of the Peninsula. And we miss you. But we understand. This week is a shock every year. Every year, we converse pre-Christmas like we are ready for the complete change of scene that is The Peninsula: Boxing Day Onwards edition. Then every year, we are shocked and elated to see a sea of faces completely unknown to us. To wonder at how they manage to summons emergency helicopters to The Pillars with such frequency. To marvel at the reinvention of boat ramps as car parking spots. To laugh in a merry, jolly fashion as folks attempt surfing paddleboarding kayaking in new vessels under manifestly not ideal weather conditions. It’s the most wonderful time of the year. This week of strange days. Plover is here for you, babies. If all else fails, you can count on our chai and rice paper rolls and salads and take me home vegan dinner packs. You can slide on in for some @freedom_moses_official slides. Dress yourself for the dress up New Years Eve circle. Say hi to the Ploverhood. Whatever. Today is the Some Day day.
