13.01.2022 Hot Water Heater Maintenance Water heaters can function better and safer if you do a bit of routine maintenance? Recommend the temperature relief valve (Tpr) to be tested every 6 months.reduces the change of a leak caused by mineral & corrosion buildup. To test the valve to ensure it is working properly, simply raise & lower the test lever several times so it lifts the brass stem which is on the valve. A lot of water should rush out at the end of a drainage pipe. If no water flows through the pipe or it starts to leak the valve would need to be replaced
