25.01.2022 3 years on. Today marks the 3rd anniversary of Plume Holistic Skin Therapies opening its doors in Ashgrove. What had started as a pipe dream 10 years ago, has grown into something wonderful. In August 2017 it was just me to start and then a few months in Shelly joined me, and more recently we introduced Sandra to the team. We all have different personal and professional experiences to bring to the culture of Plume and what holistic skin therapies mean to us.... The most valuable part for me in the last few years has been the community that has continued to grow. I have met so many likminded people, dedicated clients, other small business owners, developers of incredible products, experts driven with a passion to give others the best way to health and well being. I continue to learn much from them all. Thus far, 2020 has not been the year that we had hoped for, however, it has demonstrated the strengths of local communities, remaining true to one's intentions and beliefs and remaining positive in the face of an unknown challenge. We have survived to this point and intend to thrive moving forward. Plume has definitely not reached its peak. We have great plans for the future and we are excited at the prospect of further learning and the opportunities to provide even better service and results for our clients. Thank you to all who have supported me in little and big ways, from buying a product, enjoying a facial, moral support to technical and business advice, it all helps. I particularly want to thank my family, Brad, Matt, Annie, and Eve, my parents, my sisters, and their children too. Thank you one and all.

Commonly the reason new clients come to us is because of having a similar philosophy of a holistic approach to health, well being and the appearance of skin. 24.01.2022 At Plume we are seeing many more sensitised skins lately. Incorrect product use, previous over treatment of the skin, side-effects of medication, and dietary issues can all contribute. The outstanding culprit these days seems to be stress and given the year so far, that is not surprising. A few simple steps to reduce the effect of stress on your body and therefore your skin.... Make a plan for yourself. -Plan your meals ahead and choose foods you know will aid your body not challenge it. -Plan your exercise time and stick to it, you know you will feel better for it. -Plan something fun, a catch up with a friend, a picnic, a walk in nature or watching a favourite movie (again!). Plan it, do it, enjoy it. -Plan your bedtime better. Quality sleep is the key to better days and dealing with the challenges that will inevitably come your way. When it comes to helping your skin from the outside, we are here to help you find a way to manage your skin reaction to the everyday. Calm it down and become more resilient. Check your face cleanser and body wash is not stripping and drying out your protective barrier. Choose a gentle, non-soapy product. 3. Cool it with the long hot showers. They may feel great at the time, but will deplete the skin of much need lipids and hydration. Choose an more tepid temperature. 4. Be aware of heating and the effects on the skin. 03.01.2022 My first experience of dermaviduals many years ago was actually as a client. I had started to experience a weird breakout under my nose and I had no idea what it was from. My skin therapist/facialist at the time suggested I have my doctor diagnose it, and that confirmed her thoughts, peri-oral dermatitis. The doctor recommended a 4-week course of a prescription gel, it cost me $80 and didnt help at all.... My very knowledgeable and experienced skin therapist (Plumes Shelly!) then advised me to use just one step to relieve the inflammation and support the skin to heal. That step a daily application of Kiwi Seed Oil Nanoparticle serum from dermaviduals. Within days the area of redness had reduced in size and was calming down. This was my first experience of the incredible corrective capabilities of the skin when given the right support. Soon after I was diagnosed with Ross River fever and I realised my immune system was working overtime causing my new skin issue. I added to my daily skincare regime and had monthly LED treatments.
