24.01.2022 Unfortunately we are advising that the remainder the Santa Runs have been cancelled due to COVID Restrictions implemented by NSW Health and the RFS. This is to ensure that we are still able to meet the day to day response to emergencies, in our community. We apologise for having to cancel these events and will advise any changes . Santa has ensured us that he will still be able to visit all the good children on Christmas Eve, and that the reindeer (and Santa) have been given exemptions to travel.

23.01.2022 *Incident Call* At 1400 hrs Plumpton along with other Cumberland brigades were paged to multiple reported fires at Knox Road. Plumpton 7 proceeded under direction of Llandilo OIC and upon arrival, large amounts of smoke were observed inside the Western Sydney Parklands. Plumpton 7 worked alongside Llandilo 1 to extinguish one of the fires, while other Cumberland units handled the other fires that had formed elsewhere in the parklands. By around 1500 hrs, all fires were extin...guished and units began to depart the scene, Llandilo 1 remained onscene while Plumpton 7 departed to go refill the water tank and then returned to assist Llandilo 1, the Fire Investigation Unit and Cumberland Ops 3 with blacking out any smouldering spots using our live reels and rake hoes, while they completed their fire investigations on the affected areas, our handheld FLIR thermal camera was also used to detect hot spots and ensure it was cooled down. At around 1720 hrs both Plumpton 7 and Llandilo 1 were returning back to their stations when another call came in on the radio at the same area for reported smoke, both units returned on scene again to find a log in one of the affected areas, still slightly smouldering, foam was used to blanket that entire area and the FLIR was used once again to ensure it was fully cooled down and no longer hot. By 1800 hrs both units departed the scene and returned to their respective stations. 06.01.2022 Last Wednesday night Plumpton members were presented with Premiers Citations for the 2019/2020 Fire Season. Five RFS Long Service Awards were presented, and Life Membership Awards were presented to Les Holliday, Richard Douglas and our Senior Deputy Captain Ben Keen. Thanks to District Manager Brian Graham, District Officer Tony Gray, Group Officers Scott Lonard and Glen McCartney, Deputy Group Officers Chris Batten and Ian Walther for attending and presenting these awards. A Special thanks to David Kilcourse for taking the time to come and capture this occasion for us - your photography skills are unreal!
