24.01.2022 New Zealand has voted to legalise euthanasia in what campaigners call "a victory for compassion and kindness". Preliminary referendum results showed 65.2% of voters supported the End of Life Choice Act 2019 coming into force as a new law. It will allow terminally ill people, with less than six months to live, the opportunity to choose assisted dying if approved by two doctors.... A number of states in the United States and the Australian state of Victoria have also made assisted dying legal.

Palestinian Australians gathered in person and online to read poems and stories about their homeland and hope for a day when their people will live in freedom and dignity. The event was sponsored by the APAN - Australia Palestine Advocacy Network... -- The Palestinian Declaration of Independence is a statement written by the Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish and proclaimed by Yasser Arafat on 15 November 1988. This date is now observed as a public holiday in the West Bank and Gaza and celebrated across the Palestinian diaspora. The Declaration had previously been adopted by the Palestinian National Council, the legislative body of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), by a vote of 253 in favour, 46 against and 10 abstentions. It was read at the closing session of the 19th Palestinian National Council to a standing ovation. 12.01.2022 The EHRC gave the UK Labour party an unlawful act notice, meaning it has to publish an action plan in response to the report within six weeks. The equality body’s analysis points to a culture within the party which, at best, did not do enough to prevent anti-Semitism and, at worst, could be seen to accept it, the watchdog said in a statement. This is in direct contrast to the comprehensive guidance and training in place to handle sexual harassment complaints that demonstrates the Party’s ability to act decisively when it needs to, indicating that anti-Semitism could have been tackled more effectively. The watchdog found the party responsible for unlawful acts in three major areas: political interference in anti-Semitism complaints, failing to provide adequate training to those handling anti-Semitism complaints, and harassment.
